Guest
Wire brush? or something more extreme than thinner
tortron
the nuts are welded under the car. iv had stuff coated in it sitting in brake fluid without effect
Brock-Lee
Just whack a tap through the nut = solved/you probly wont have a tap & die set.
durty
its only the passenger seat, i would just half do up the nut and leave it not like i ever sit in the passenger seat of my own car
nobumps
Lol you know your oldschool when you do a bolt up half done cause you dont sit in that seat Use some paint stripper then flush out with a burst of water
tortron
por-15 isnt affected by paint stripper also, yea iv only had it half bolted up since iv had the car managed to just work the bolts in by working them back and forth half a turn at a time
Unclejake
I had to run a tap through all the seat rail threads on the Mercedes after POR-15ing. There isn't much option. A cheap simple and small Tap and Die set is around $40 (a good one is 10 times that). You will use it heaps once you have one.
Brock-Lee
oath, the old man has a fucking expensive set, but it pays itself off for the amount that you use them. Such a handy set of tools to have.
HUNTD
fully. i procrastinated for ages, but now i have a set i use it heaps.
Guest vvega
if you have a spare bolt cut a flute/s in it then wind it though ... acts like a tap
sheepers
^^^ yea, top tip. you can use a hacksaw to make flutes, if you try to make it look like a tap sort of thing youll be away. you know what were on about?
Bullitt
Agreed, buy a tap and die set. Then use the correct one, its easy to screw a metric tap through an imperial nut
