My name is Russell
What clutch cable works?/have you used? Have got what is supposed to be a mk2 escort cable which is really tight/cant see to working, and a sierra cable which has no room for any adjustment on it/the linkages at the pedal box end dont quite work. What should i look at next cortina? The esky used to be auto so kind of driving blind and not to sure where to look next. Anyone got some pics of how they linked theres into the pedalbox? Any advice appreciated. Cheers Chris
d.p.n.s
hay chris ive got a cortina 4 speed in mine and the cortina cable was to long as in you could ajust the hsit out of it and the pedal was still on the floor. i ended up useing the escort one and it fits like a cock in a sock but the 4 speed might be a wee bit shorter then the 5 speed. dan
Toucan
Fairly sure Mk1 escort had a longer cable than the Mk2 escorts had.
sholdowa
I've got old memories of using a crappi cable as it was longer. But I may be confusing it with the speedo cable. It was a long time ago...

Gaz
With the mk3 cortina one did you go around the rad side of the engine mount or the firewall side? Thanks
Chrome_GT
I Had similar problem on the Capri - 5speed fitted. Cortina Mk5 2.0l cables have the correct ends on them but the inner cable is too long relative to the outer sleeve. Actual Capri ones aren't available. Solution - Buy the MK5 cortina one, take it into safeRbrakes or similar company and get inner cable shortened by 40-50mm. Either that or get a spacer made which would spigot into the cable housing at the gearbox end. I'm not sure how this applies to your esky so trial fit whatever you get before shortening it
