Bullitt
From a Pug N00b whats the advantage in the 309 Beam?
Zealot
A couple of mm thicker torsion bar, and a wider track. The wider track isn't desirable for the race track as it makes the rear harder to flick out, but for a road car, it's a good thing.

Yes and no, been down the 309 rear beam route and it make the car far more stable at high speed, but much less fun on the road. Lift-off oversteer is a good thing! Zealot
Not at 30k around town in the wet D: You know the hairpin bend on domain drive near the tennis stadium in town? Yea, not fun on the second day of pug ownership.
CaMpylobacter
I love the arse out style so much fun on gravel.... but yeah, I'm keen for at least the bottom arms and driveshafts from a 309 if osmeone ets one... do the torsions from a 309 slot into a 205 beam? Zealot
Not afaik - since it's thicker, the hole it goes into must be bigger Pete - you actually have both - would you be able to check?

It's not the width, you can buy (for hideous money) much thicker bars from the UK for the 205 bars. It's the length, the 309 beam is wider, so they don't fit in. V8Pete
do the torsions from a 309 slot into a 205 beam? They slot in, but they'd poke out the sides The splined ends are the same size, so you can use the same trailing arms if your 205 ones are good, and the 309 ones are fubar. I'll take a pic. Zealot
Ah ok. Makes sense. I figured it'd be vastly different.
