the guy that ha that 309 with slippy clutch onthere a few weeks ago is a pain in the ass. I've tried quite hard to get ahold of that. guy wont answer phone/return calls. gah

A couple of mm thicker torsion bar, and a wider track. The wider track isn't desirable for the race track as it makes the rear harder to flick out, but for a road car, it's a good thing.

Yes and no, been down the 309 rear beam route and it make the car far more stable at high speed, but much less fun on the road. Lift-off oversteer is a good thing!

Not afaik - since it's thicker, the hole it goes into must be bigger :P

Pete - you actually have both - would you be able to check?

It's not the width, you can buy (for hideous money) much thicker bars from the UK for the 205 bars. It's the length, the 309 beam is wider, so they don't fit in.

do the torsions from a 309 slot into a 205 beam?

They slot in, but they'd poke out the sides :P

The splined ends are the same size, so you can use the same trailing arms if your 205 ones are good, and the 309 ones are fubar.
