Gaz
Mint sleeper if it can get traction! My engine I am putting in is 130kw rated and im sure thatll be too much power to handle. Since im too much of a lazy cuint with bugger all moolah at the mo I havnt even really started to put it in. Just buying all the peices I need up. I know 298RWkw in a lightened escort with well engineering rear end will bag a 9.0s 1/4. Thats fast. I want 200RWKW with about standard weight. Should pop a very low 12 easy peezy with some decent tyres.

Gaz
Yeah 12s is fast enoguh for a street car. Most strret evos etc that people do up seriously would be around that fast. I got the Ca. After all my research etc I found the Ca is actually a better engine. Also it seems better suited to the small escort. You should search for the malta escorts. They run 9 sec passes with 298kw sohc pinto turbocharged mk1s. One of the Na ones does a 12 even. They go hard out on there 2l pintos there. escortman
1600 heads always crack dont they? Not that I have heard of. Not too sure however. yeh it is a very common thing to happen to the 1600 but between 2 and 3 chambers, they still run fine tho, thats wat my mechanic sed, and hes the shiz for oldskool questions especially fords when hes not drunk aye corrupt
peteretep
have you guys seen the august classic ford - they made a 2.4L pinto, had 208.3bhp @ 7020rpm and 186.2 lbf.ft @ 5324rpm. The crank was so huge they had to take out some metal on the sides to give the rods room, it had 11mm extra over a normal crank
Eskorted
ha thats pretty intense for a pinto. should look that up to
Gaz
I know the Kent 1600 head is bad for cracks accross where you said. Thats one huge stroke for the 2.4l. Bet it would rev too well. haha
peteretep
they said they could have gotten a bigger crank too, 90mm
OSC
200hp is VERY doable from a pinto ive seen 330hp 2.3l pintos and the max most ppl get is about 240hp tho but my advice would be grenada/siera saphire intake manifold aftermarket bolt on turbo manifold turbo off a vg30det a link computer use a vl comodoire fuel pump and a vr4 intercooler on a standard pinto maybe a mild cam and you would have a torquey very driveable streeter
Gaz
^^^^ Use some grammer..... we are taught it all through our lives for a good reason....!!! Guy I just brought my hilux axles off had a 192hp @ the wheels 2l pinto. Thats major power. Saw the dyno sheet and all cause I was a bit sceptical. Was running twin 45s, a $2000 head from a place in Chrchr. custom ground cam. Power was from 6500 to 8500, Forged internals and blueprinted all round. Electronic ignition, HUGE front bowl sump. ummm cant member what else. Now thats one pretty modified 2l if you ask me.
