Haha thats why it cracked. The compression with the 1600 head will be way way to high. It could possiably last a while or it could possaibly blow straight away.

Yeah the FR32 is an awsome cam. Best cam for street pinto.

fr32 from camtech $285 deliverd. its a brand new billet cam.

285 inlet 280 exhaust. they throw so far the valve springs almost bind.

its strange tho cause my mates mk4 corty has been driving with 1.6 head for about 6months now. could also be the fact that his rings are shot...

and no pinto heads almost neva crack. well i have never seen one to date.

maybe i need to stop worring about getting alot of power out of N/A. cossie bottom end and supercharge it.

My Kent FR32 cost me $180 with new matched followers. Was ground from a blank cam. Mines 285 Ex, 272 In. Camco Camshafts Rotorua. 07-348-0889 I paid cash tho so may have made it cheaper. He is a good dude.

The cam is rated by many pros to be the best of the fast road. You dont notice the loss at bottom end but def notice the revs go up alot freeier.

You dont/shouldnt use double or stronger valve springs with it. (should aviod with any pinto actually).

Hadrest part of putting it in is the timing and getting it all 100% right by using lash caps etc. Alot of people put them in wrong and will loose lift.

The cam in the 1600 pinto has 256 degrees duration and 34 degrees overlap.

2l cam has another 10 or so degrees of duration and overlap, it also has slightly higher lift.

Actually. Ill post a good pinto cam choice thing up in articals thread now.

I doubt you'd want the 1600 head for 200hp anyways. Chambers are too small. Instead you would use a skimmed 2l head to raise comp and use huge valves with a MINT portjob. One of them cams which has to idle at 2g and some hearty valve springs would do it.

Then youd want a forged and fully balanced bottom end. Twin 48s and some A grade tuning.

Not to mention the electrical part of it. MSD did I hear.

well i do have a cam that can only be fitted with the bearing towers cut in half and bolted back on to get the lobes through, nah N/A would be way to undrivable. i have a cossie bottom end so should handle a turbo/supercharger better than sierra bottom end. but even then ill need to sus a dam good port job. maybe section a spare 2L head and learn how far it can be ported and where.

think he meant bottom end internals, plus think he meant he has another cam apart from his fr32 that is so ruthless it doesnt fit etc. Go the cosworth rods and pistons, safe to 9000 redline, however the cranks only safe to 8500 and then you have to modify the block with regards to the oil feeds or some shit and got to get flywheel dowelled to stop it flying off.. Meh 200hp is about the limit a NA pinto head can flow even heavily ported. Some test on it a while back, pro guys couldnt get it over 197 i think it was.

Pintos are just to characteristic u know what i mean? i dont realy wana go zetec. but spose if im goin to want the power im goin to need the technology.

Or keep the scort az is for daily and get 100e, anglia, or mk2 corty and go zetec on one of em. (anglia might be a major job)

Oh I see. Fuck cossy rods and pistons. I would guess for the same price youd get forged pistons and aftermarket rods which is better.

Fuck that must be one huge arse cam. haha. I like.

I personally think 200 fw hp is doable. But not with alot of experimenting and fucking around. The head is the major bit. You want it 100% perfect in every aspect. Youd also want to go out to at least 2.1l.

Dowled flywheels should be done anytime after 130hp. The flywheels dont like to stay on. haha.

Engine conversion for esky. The ultimate IMO.

Buy the kit to put the duratec engine into an escort. Then proced to find one of the new 208kw turbo mazda2.3 engines. They are the same engine as the duratec and will most likely bolt up with the duratec conversion kit. Make a custom bellhousing to suit and away you go. Mint power from a still Ford made engine with heaps of torque.

Love it.
