Guest pringles
Hey guys, I have an 89 L200 with a 4G54 engine that has conked out, what I want to know is what engines can bolt straight in. Basically i'm looking for something that will bolt up to the 5spd Manual gearbox in there at the moment because I cannot find any 4G54 engines around where I live, can anyone here help me ? Thanks a lot guys

Guest pringles
Thanks guys, just to clarify - those will both bolt straight in, to the gearbox etc, without modification?
YeMs
haha .. 4G63 turbo u kno u want to.
phtmbl
the only motors that will fit is a 4g54 4g56 or a wide block 4g63 norm a turbo mitsi 2l they all have the slightly wider block at the bell housing but all the misti have the same engine mouts so you either have to chane the box or find one of the for mentioned engines
phtmbl
if your real lucky you can find a vr4 twin cam turbo that still has the rwd mounts and bolt holes tapped into the block but they are hard to find
Ogre
it could be a small bell hosing tho, but most likely wide....they are fucked up. get a 63 and box outa a sigma or l200, cant lose mang

lowlancer
Correct Evos don't have propensity to run rwd mounts on block though All VR4 blocks do. If it is a widebox, VR4=no good. Just get a Sigma, rip motor and box out, and drop it in. Would take half a day
phtmbl
or buy a dirty old hyundi they run the mitsi 2l and gearbox just badged diff prob cheaper than an old sigma lol

Care to explain what a 4G56 is? And those Hyundai motors are actually made by Hyundai - they use Mitsubishi blueprints.
