Just sold my ghia diff in november. Got $210.00 for it :P

Just brought a 3.9 whole rear end for 60 bucks and they are sending it to my doorstep included in that price. Im happy as larry. The 3.9 with some bigger wheels should sort this goat way to the hems.

MK1 cortina's are leaf spring

....unless its from a early 'a' frame lotus cortina (1964 ish) the only mk1 model to have coil overs factory

as for differences between mk1 and mk2

it depends on years

MK2s had salisbury type diffs (tin plate at rear for crown wheel and pinion access) so centers are not interchangable

MK1s had 'banjo' type drop in centers

overall length of a MK1 diff to a MK2 diff (i think from memory) is different MK2s are wider track.

MK2s are leaf spring also but use different hand brake assembly and brakes

mk1 and 2 cortina have head type diffs, but if you can find 1 go for a 3.75,

or 3.5 out of a 2.8l capri, they fit escorts and are as strong as hell!!!

or get a hilux lsd cut down and drilled with esky stud!

I do have 2 hilux rear ends at home. one is LSD. haha thats for the escort tho.

Nah i have decided to put a 5 speed in. The amount of rev diff you get from changing the diff was fuck all. Changing to 5 speed however is awsome.
