davidian
because it's stupid to put your intercooler above your engine. Agreed! not neccessarily when youre running outrageous bonnet vents like the GTIR or the manhole size scoop on the soobies
Ogre
also he running a water to air intercooler as well. Not air. i think its a good idea.I mean if it dousnt work then oh well, but it should keep the responce up and less lag. Why do you think they never put any front mount on them standard!!?

Ogre
yeah.Problam is that the standard motor hates having an intercooler. If you upgrade the turbo or whatever its alot better. But in standard for they lose alot of responce and getting even MORE laggy. lowlancer
GTiRs run Air-air i/cs and they're top-mounted. Run sweet too. The Interheater on the GTiR's is commonly replaced by a front mount, because it's stupid to put your intercooler above your engine. Indeed, I wasn't saying that, but they work fine with a top mount air-air i/c That's all. Just pointing out they do work. My friend is actually in the middle of converting his to front mount VR4 i/c
kyteler
Yeah, they work top mounted, they served a purpose, being the car was designed for rallying so the intercooler was put up top to prevent damage from being front mounted.
