  2. its an early 4g52 5 speed.
  3. when i put the 63 motor in mine i used the GTO 5 speed box. I tried using the flywheel and clutch from the 63 as well but it didn't work. so i put the flywheel and clutch from the 52 back in and it works real well.
  4. does anyone have a RWD dash engine or know someone that does??? If they you do could you please measure(if you can) the distance between the top 2 bellhousing bolts?? cheers shirwan
  5. i can't confirm this but from everything i've heard they do...
  6. Ahh I see thanks for that, thats saved me some dollars, Ill reuse my 5 speed, If I took a photo of the box would you know what it was originaly off? not specifically but there is a difference between the 5 speeds used on the 4g51/2 and the 4g63, the 63 shifter further back.
  7. N/A and turbo FWD 4g63's use a narrow block. only the RWD turbo 4g63 has the wide block

    4g63t turbos

i'm running the tc06 on mine at the moment but will likely hybrid it td05 once i have my intercooling sorted out

    4g63t turbos

on the std manifold the tc05,tc06,td05 and td06 all bolt straight on. i didn't include the td04 cause i don't know if it's a straight swap and besides all the other turbos i mentioned are bigger and better anyway
  10. the flares are riveted, nu teched and fibreglassed on! i had a truck back into it a while back and they didn't move at all.
  11. They look like the factory bolt-on flares that came standard with the GSR if I am correct? they are indeed! i just smoothed them over so they looked a bit more subtle.
  12. i put up a pic of the engine and a how to for the coversion now.
  13. if anyone is interested here is what was required for doing the swap from a 4g52 to the 4g63t. firstly it should be noted that the engine is out of a FWD sigma GSR, i chose the FWD engine because i knew the engine and my original gearbox would mate straight up(the RWD 4g63t wont). you would need a set of RWD 4g63 engine mounts, exhaust and intake manifold, electric fan, efi fuel pump and fuel line and thats all! first i put the mounts on the engine, then put a RWD exhaust manifold on. the first problem i encounted was that the turbo from the FWD had threaded mounts and they needed to be drilled out(easy) next i had to rotate the front cover on the turbo and had a crossover pipe made to suit. then i had to figure out how to mount the wastegate actuator, i just spaced it out from the turbo and made a bracket to suit. after that i replaced the oil lines for braided ones(the std ones are metal and wont fit anymore cause the turbo is now turned over 180 degrees. next i put the RWD intake manifold on but found that the throttle body waterways were different so i just made a metal gasket(fixed). some of the starions actually use the same throttle body as the sigma so if you can find the manifold off this it would be perfect. also bear in mind that depending on the AFM and throttle body type you would need the ecu to match. ok i then put the flywheel and clutch from the 4g52 engine on. then i just plonked it in the car and bolted the engine in and the the gearbox on. next was a efi fuel pump and fuel lines were connected and a fan was installed. then it was off to the exhaust shop for the 2nd piece of custom work it needed. and that was due to using a FWD turbo(the flange is slightly rotated compared to the RWD one). if you use a turbo from a RWD then a RWD dump pipe bolts straight on. then i wired it up and thats it!
  14. ok a while ago i was talking about putting a 4g63t into the GTO. well it's been in for a couple of months now and i'm almost finished the teething problems. i managed to get ahold of a digi cam and took a photo
