Josh
Talk to ppl, its gonna cost round 5k to turbo it...so not gonna worry, keeping it N/A with some decent mods.
RT
Yeah but you'll end up wanting more power dude trust me... (especially with a plate boasting 'bckdwn' ) At least fuel inject it so when you're bored of being a sheep in wolfs clothing then you can throw a supercharger at it! Josh
Hahaha, true true...How much would you be looking at for fuel injection? Coz I could just build it up over a period of time amongst other mods so that i will be able to turbo it in due course? Get everything else done that leads up to it? Can I do that? lol
Guest kornstar
how bout sorce a motor, and build it up over time. Once complete then chuck it in.

RT
well the efi is really half the mission. So I would do that and work the head & cam and it will be pretty sweet at around 130-40bhp. You can either custom make the injection like I did which is costly. Mainly due to the computer already costing $1000 straightup. So around $3,000 all up. But it's fully programmable and has a huge plenum chamber and long runners etc. IMO looks the biz. Or source a setup off a Sierra. Over here as they're as rare as rocking horse shit, but someone might have one. Otherwise they can be sourced outta Oz or as a final resort the UK has em in every wreckers. I got quoted 500 punds for the manifold, injectors computer, wiring the lot, but I'd just go for the manifold alone as you'll need a tunable 'puter anyway. IMO all this is pretty cheap as you'll spend at least $1000 on twin side-draughts anyway.. then spend the rest of your life trying to tune the cunts. RT
hahaha that reminds me of someting on tv I saw once.. this dude started building a car in his lounge cos it was way to cold in the garage.. Eventually he finished it but honestly never concidered how he was going to get it out!! hahaha it started it up in there by pouring fuel down the carb and it ran mint but there was no way of getting the car out of the house. ended up taking a wall out! Guest Demonmk2
yes but then you wouldn't get your 'fashey 2 cam look' that you wanted demon.. I think it would be similar to my firends SC pinto.. except less powerful but revier and lighter. advanteges would be the amount of good quality and cheap SC's for 1600's such as the 4agze supercharger would be perfect. disadvantages that I can think of would be that 1600 Xflow doesn't have the parts available for easy forced induction ie. electronic dizzy's and efi stuff... unless you have contacts in the UK.. as Ford Feista MKII electronic dizzy's fit the Xflow.. but this is off topic!! Josh is not going to put a Xflow in his Capri.. they look fuckin ridiculous in that massive enginebay.. r u albe to send me more info bout all that? like charging 1600 and pintos? Guest Pipster007
There are a lot of people up here in England going down the route of Vauxhall power. 2.0 16 valve XE engines. Not sure if you have them down there. But here's an example of what one of our lads on http://www.oldskoolford.co.uk has done just recently. He has running with throttle bodies. I believe there will be a write up in Classic Ford in the coming months. It's been fitted to a MK1 Escort Van. They have 170 BHP as standard. Guest Pipster007
I think they mainly came from the Vauxhall Astra GTE http://www.wilcoxengines.demon.co.uk/vauxhall.htm http://sites.clickandbuild4you.co.uk/pa ... tm?page=
