zep
Hey guys, I've almost finished installing my new diff and I wanna replace the oil in it. There is only one bolt on the centre which looks like a plug. If I pull this out will oil come pissing out? Then how do I go about replacing it, is it through the same place? Draizuh
dont you have a haynes manual?
Will_8v
The oil should come up to the bottom of the plug hole when the diff is level. Just make sure it's not in the back of a Legacy, it should leak less than your grandad
Hemi
yea i agree i just topped up the oil in my diff and at level the oil should be just below the hole ..if it come pissing out ummm ...yea
zep
So when I take the bolt out, nothing should happen? What's the best way of draining the diff then?

Burntrubber
Probably have to take the back plate off. Steep hill might be a go though.
zep
Well, you shouldn't have to go and take the diff out every time you wanna change the oil. I'll just give it a go and see what happens
Bistro
Usually diff oil isnt changed, it just gets topped up...
zep
I'll just roll the car up the drive way a bit and top it up
