Guest Razor
if you want it done the right way get it reset if you want something cheap and face consequences then you can take the smallest/shortest leaf and put it on top of the longest one and turn it the other way around, this will give a lowered effect depending on your shocks condition as well. Be extra carefull taking your leaves off may cause serious injury. in my opinion 3rd will be lowering blocks just doesnt trust this from people who used it and experienced it. Guest 78lancer
i reset mine bout 4 months ago and there no clearance between guard n tire but now wit 15's with lowerprofile there bout a finger, but it looks low( bout 2cm off bumps), lowlancer ill put up a pic 1 day of nu wheels, but 4 my leafs i pulled middle 1 with no rebound clips out, left top and second normal and flipped bottom 1 upside down on top and did up clips and its been perfectly fine! so ne way can u just use a flat blck with no locator? esky boi
ESCORT POWER wrote: pedders suspension in new lynn apararently $100 (with u bolts and shit) Yup thats right, I rang around heaps of suspension places in auckland and pedders were by far the cheapest. Everyone else was selling them for around the $150 mark. However with the blocks they gave me, the locating holes were way too small, so I had to get the bottom holes drilled out to fit the mount on the spring retaining plate. And on the top I just made the mount bigger by fitting a thick washer with the same diameter as the mounting hole on the diff. It cost like $20 to get them drilled out. Pushrod wrote: Blocks can promote a bit of axle tramp under load but Ive never really noticed Yea I've heard about that too, my esky is on 2" blocks and I can't really notice any difference either. But anyway, im gonna look at getting my springs reset at some stage anyway, where is the best place to go in aucks to get them done and how much does it cost roughly? esky boi
Oh yea, and you do need the locating holes, otherwise when you fit the diff it wont sit straight .....Another thing, when you do the U bolt nuts up, tighten them EVENLY and dont do them up past the recommended torque. If you dont use a torque wrench do them up until they feel tight, but once they start to get no tighter STOP tightening them or youll strip the threads. Trust me, its very easy to do, my mate wouldnt listen to me and he was like nah bro its sweet, they need to be tight as, and...... he had to learn the hard way... big tymer
why dont you just make your own i mean it is only a block of metal
jinx
so is any cam gear or oil pump - ready to file up a new one of these are you? Buying them gives you (generally) a better product, designed to do the job, and with the correct attachment parts. Modification of the locating holes/pins is quite common as there are so many different types out there that they only make a small number and leave it to the shop or buyer to modify to fit. Try pricing up new diff U-bolts and you'll soon see that most of these kits are pretty cost effective.
big tymer
nah cheaper to make takes abit of time but thats the whole point of it not just to slam your ride down 2"
