Rusted
I want to shave off my roof gutters and place an alumium strip over them to keep th shape of the car, how is the best way to go about this without ruining the paint.
Bistro
i think you're gonna find that htis is more than a simple job. the roof guttering is where the side panels and the roof and welded together. your gonna have to take the roof off, bend everything inwards and reweld it all. if thats what you're thinking of... Mr.Mk1
And the fact that you cannot weld aluminium to steel
davidian
youre gonna have to ruin some paint dude, at a guess think about an alternative to aluminium too. go have a chat to a friendly panelbeater and pick his brains as to what your options are cause the gutters are important to the panelwork, however much a pain they might be
Rusted
The solution the panelbeater came up with is... Screw it on! Sounds simple enough, All I want to do is remove the lip on the gutter and place a piece of brushed aluminium over the few mills left there. Jerm
fuck if you are planning on doing what i think you are.. that sounds really wierd.... and really hard to make to look good.... isn't the roof curved also?
RT
thats what I was thinking.... whats wrong with gutters anyway? keeps all the water from pouring down your window rubbers and rusting out your doors.
