  1. Got to like how many old school cars are in the south
  2. Great to see this moving again Heath
  3. You need a 1600 sump 1300 sumps dont fit
  4. Wheels and tyres all fitted up yet????
  5. A factory pump should give enough gas. I run on 10mm line instead of 8mm and I have a 1-4psi pump in the boot to help get the gas up the front havent run out yet for twin 45s
  6. I had an issuse with my side drafts running out of gas as well . Fuel pump set up was enough couldn't work it out . Picked Murrays brain from webber spec and found out that my neddle (value) jets where 1.5 which is a pretty standard size in side draft carbs . He machined them out to 2mm for me problem solved better fuel delivery . I might be wrong but from memory that was what it was correct me if im wrong
  7. Just working though the weak parts I hope I come to end soon . I liked the time to that is pretty fast for a xflow
  8. The van has been working well only one real issue along the way but was easy fixed It was a quick easy fix but was a problem at the time as It broke the hand brake cable as well Next on the list is the front brakes as they love the scream and pull to the right pretty hard . The drive shaft that I used as a replacement needs balanced so I find a spare and get that done and do the swap over. Have been slowly working away on getting the new engine and drive line sorted
  9. All I can say is that I'm stoked with the time. I run first time I had ever drag raced and would do it again big thanks to the Old school team for a great day So this was run number one and couldn't wait for run number 2 lined up against mark105 and his datsun should have been easy for my little car as I had run 2 seconds faster than his car on the first run. Heated the tyres up and moved to the gate and away I went as soon as I left the line I could tell it was running on 3 cylinders mark beat me and that was the last run for the day . Back in the pits we had a play around had spark and fuel but an added noise and just wasn't running right we suspect that it has a bent value so yet another part that needs to be replaced looks like its out of action for the next month
  10. Bent value I think I just took it home instead of causing more uneeded damage
  11. Mine is out of action for at least a month at this stage . I'm pretty sure I have a bent value after the last run I done at the drags yesterday its only running on 3 cylinders . very keen for late Jan for a twilight and as many as I can fit in after that
  12. The rev range is 2250rpm to 7200rpm and I asked for it to have mid range tourqe and what I ended up with is above
  13. Yes the cam has a long duration and 11.5mm lift
  14. Yeah sounds like a plan as I need to build a cold air duct as well he said it would be good for 5hp which is free HP . And its strange my engine is built to be high compression but he seemed to think it wasnt so but the parts in it mean it should so it must be the way that I had the cam grind done??? oh well we will see tomorrow how it goes
  15. The year is almost done Drags tomorrow but still have a small oil leak which should be fixed today. And the brake shudder as well. Dyno was intresting once again I picked a place that doesnt print out off there Dyno machine so no fancy graph to show every one . The down side is I cant see the tourpe range which I really wanted. Maybe in the new year I can just put it on one to get a read out. But the car runs great far better than before . He did coment how the 45's are all go from 2000rpm foot flat not like a normal engine where they would be spulttering untill around 4000rpm due to the size cam . We changed the leads as they where lose and affecting the spark put colder plugs in it and adjusted the timing and got 122hp at the fly wheel and 73kw at rear wheels at 6000rpm Gave the car a diet last night so all the comfort bits have been removed and it is around 50kg lighter and you can notice it took it for a drive last night cant wait for the battle of the Kents
  16. Make it a large one!!!! come on guys get your cars out and come along
  17. I have the same problem with body work and i'm very fussy bugger . I think it will need them if they where go fast bits it would really average due to the size of the carbs
  18. Looks good . The engine must have a fair amount of work to have 45s on it . My 1.6 runs 45's no problems Keen to see more
  19. Dyno booked for next Wednesday much excitement keen to see what its doing
