If you want a roll cage in Wellington...
SiRge replied to Unclejake's topic in Lower North Island Region
He's also quite keen on bourbon. He's done my stainless exhaust fab, swaybar bushes, custom bash guard for headers and few other various parts on my civic. The prices he charged for me at least were very reasonable. Oh he's the one that built that race car NSX too that was in NZPC a while back. -
Good stuff mate, glad to see you're still going with it. Sold mine off and upgraded to crv because tow bar, then felt deprived of old crap so got an n360. What's next on this thing?

Just found this part from the WOF standards, but I'm not sure if they're going to ping me for a compliance check. http://www.lvvta.org.nz/documents/standards/LVVTA_STD_Lighting_Equipment.pdf The 'if fitted' part interests me.

Hi all, For a car that didn't come with side facing indicators (Only has forward and back ones), is it going to be a requirements to retrofit ones on there to get it through compliance? I know I only need 1 rear facing mirror (Which I may end up getting side ones as well), but I can't remember the requirements for side facing indicators. Cheers Geoff Offending vehicle:

Fairly minimal needs, just a headliner (Which i have the template for) and cover some plastic sunvisors. I just fear not having someone in the know and getting charged moonbeams for simple job. Kinda like a few years ago I went to an engineer as an off-the-streeter and getting charged $100 for 3 pieces of rod... never again

Another reasonably uneventful update, but with a lolable picture. Nathan and I took out all the rest of the salvageable gear in the wreck (We litterally picked it up and tipped it on it's side...) Sprayed all of the things with ROST OFF, had a can of coke and banter then removed all of the bolt with no snappage. Then we flipped it back on the ground and proceeded to put a flipped space saver in the wheel arch to show of how amazing it could look on 15s. Sadly at this height the body is on the wheel so this height is unobtainable without some major surgery but would look pretty dman cool! Oh and before I forget, moved the n360 over to in front of the mini (Not seen in this photo) so I can get my other car back in the garage. Fitting 3 cars in a double garage like a boss.

Late to the party but so cool to see someone flare guards correctly. Grinds my gears to no end to see people get a stupid farking generic flaring tool and ruin the shape of a well designed car. -
Sorry, nothing really to see here, just posting another cool photo of a modified one

That noise :'( Those camber plates :'(
-
Also, some running vids (God might have to get me twin carbs..... with those trumpets)
-
Oh if you want some of my inspiration, here goes. Deciding if I like this modified grill design, I have a spare grill but wondering if I keep it or make this type to see if it suits. But god I love this colour too!

Yea next task is to take apart the good car, but in saying that as said before it's had new underseal from what I can see so I've got a feeling it's had some love

Unsure if you've been pressured into buying a 4G62, but a 4G54 is superior.... well, it would be for torque... and you can use L200 diff and gearbox which should hold up relatively well. If you are convinced by my below average attempt to convince you, I'll donate this (Below link) if you do it. One of my earlier dream cars was to get one of these and chuck in the 4g54 from the Magna. I saw this cool videos on youtube like 8 years ago of one talking about how easy the swap was. it was carbed in the vid so I thought how cool it would be to bring it into the 21st century (to some degree) and fuel inject it. //oldschool.co.nz/index.php?/topic/49034-fs-4g5024-rwd-fi-intake-manifold-loom-dizzy-ecu/#entry1546104

You have my interest. Have never seen the pulsar dizzy mod before, very cool. Whats the benefit for that vs regular electronic ignition conversion?

Teach me how to engine. I don't even, but I want to. Looks good.

Alright, started the removal of spare parts from the wreck with a couple mates Pretty much pulled: - all glass - doors - dash - fuse box - tail gate - all wiring looms (Must be about 12 wires total!) - front bumper - steering rack and ends Then we did the head lining... it was a system where the whole head lining was pressed into the top skin of the roof and had some reinforcement bars holding it in place. Of course these things are designed to go in not out we though what a genious way would be to open the top the roof like a tin can.... So after we removed the head lining it looked pretty ugly so we just decided it's probably best to make this wreck into a convertible. I am horrified in how easy it was to chop through the pilars with a hack saw. Literally about 15-20 strokes and I was through. If I'm ever in an accident it's been nice knowing all of you. Peeling all of the skins The new convertible N360 Just picture to show minimal remaining in engine bay now Next time we're taking the windscreen frame off and then flipping car 180 degrees (Or maybe just on its side) and removing the remaining stuff like subframes, petrol tank, suspension, hubs. Hopefully only a day left then we can start cracking into the good one and see what we're dealing with!

Cool, I dont think you can get much better than sticking this on 14x7's and boned out Like Snoozin's Starlet.

Bugger, was just Nelson over the weekend, would have been cool to see it. Went to the WOW and classic car museum looking for one, disappointingly didn't see one I think a mate and I are going to crack into it this weekend, look for any cancer under the interior then start stripping everything out of the parts car so I can get my Civic back in the garage. (You might laugh at that one). You're welcome to come along if you want to have a nosey, PM me and I'll flick ya my number.

Mate you can always look but don't touch right? When are you coming over to inspect and compare the old crap we own.
-
Hi, have you heard of our lord and savory Cheesus Crust?
-
Picked up owner manual and workshop manual. Nice that I can have a matching collection for me and future owners.
-
Reg lapsed, pretty much only downside to the car. Plans is to get and keep it running. Will get things powder coated on the way.

I guess perception is a big thing here I think maybe slightly on the expensive side for this, but realistically for how complete it is and how good condition it is, it's probably a bargin. (When compared with how cheap others have gone for and their condition)
