Maybe ive just had lemons haha, that orange one and a ratty as blue one when I was younger, had to sell them both due to excessive smoke and having no funds. In saying that though, they both still ran well. the cyclone 4g15s though, ive had 3 of them (all in 2nd gen wagons) and had done well over 250ks and still ran perfect with mint comp.
-
Not to mention, the 4g11/12s are pretty crap motors, hence why I wanna jam a 4g15 in, at least they can go over 200ks without exhausting all of their oil via the tailpipe. Someones gotta love these shitters!
-
Yeah they're still getting around eh!! This one was destined for the scrappy if I hadn't swooped in and saved it. Fucking awesome little cars, regretted so badly getting rid of this one I had in nelson like 6 years ago

Manual! Probably shouldve noted that haha its the selling points of these, what things do you have man?

Sooooo, another mitsi to add to the hoard! Discussion thread here //oldschool.co.nz/index.php?/topic/53153-jesses-mk1-mirage-yarns/ Saw this little gem pop up on trademe at a ridiculously low price so couldn't help myself and impulsively hit the buy now, bit of a pain being in blenheim but it was worth it! organised to shoot across on the ferry this saturday and drive it back.... has not been driven for 2 years and is dereg... what could go wrong?! Got down to blenheim about lunch time on saturday with a sack full of tools and got to work on getting it going, wouldn't start at all for ages and found no fuel getting through so blew out all the fuel lines and shot to ripco and got a new fuel pump and filter and spark plugs for the hell of it. fitted all them and she fired into life like a treat, sadly after hours of trying to get it running right it still wouldn't idle or drive, only starts and revs, fuck, thankfully my GC mate who i was staying with towed me to the ferry on sunday night when it was absolutely pissing down, couldn't see jack shit and had to use left foot for braking as my right foot had to feather the throttle to keep the car going! but alas we got it on the ferry and up to wellington and my boss picked me up at the other end with the car trailer....at midnight on a sunday. So, Cons: * Carb probably needs resealing or a rebuild but that's not a biggie * Paints faded (not in a cool patina way though) That's pretty much it, was surprised for a car that's been sitting outside for a couple years without being run aside from the engine the brakes and clutch and everything work a treat! Pros: * It's a genuine 1 old lady owner with 114,000ks on the clock * Apart from running rough it doesn't smoke at all * Body is incredibly straight and completely rust free, underside is like new thanks to what looks to be factory underseal! Plans are to get it running right, then use as a daily, then the usual things like low, gonna chuck my advans on it that were initially for my turbo mirage (this will be up for sale soon) and then later down the line engine conversion, was thinking of maybe a carby 4g15 with a few minor add ons, nothing too major Aaaaaaanyway here are some pics!

Hey dudes, i've done the unthinkable and bought another mirage.... but it's in Blenheim and it may be a month or more before i can get down to pick it up, is anyone able to store it at theirs until i am able to come get it? Guy i got it off reckons it drove fine when he last drove it but has a blat fattery, it is de-regd. chur chur.

Probably why your pressures would be up man, wanna do compression Test with engine warm otherwise your readings will be up the shit.
-
Did you do wet test with engine hot or cold?

Anyone know where to get headers/extractors for mazda klze/de engines, wanna get a touch more power and tone out of the telstar, can only find stuff in 'murica on ebay. Also has anyone had any experience in doing exhaust systems on these engines?

jackeo21's 1983 Mitsubishi Mirage Panther II - Discussion
DoBro Jesus replied to jackeo21's topic in Project Discussion
Yeah i'm with you on the keeping it standard thing! I kinda think its a bit tacky also putting a turbo scoop on a non turbo car, even if the scoop was pretty much cosmetic on the turbo ones anyway haha!- 21 replies

Is it wrong that I really really like the colour scheme?

Would definitely help if they listed width/offset but looks to be a decent offset by how much dish they have, and they're cheap as fuck too haha.

Fuck this thing is rad, always wanted to slam a herald on widened steelies! -
Hey bros, long story short, alternator packed up in my telstar, whipped it out, brushes were fucked so jammed some new ones in, everything always worked fine now its charging again with new brushes but power is fluctuating between 14.5 and 15ish volts so when any dash lights or headlights are on it pulses.checked power to reg and theres power there, it could be the reg but just seems odd that it was working perfect before now its playing up. Any ideas?

Have pretty much done nothing on this since I got it, BUT, just got my advans from japan this evening. Huuuuuge thank you to Jordon and EURON8 for organising and getting them down to wellington for me, wheels are far better condition than I expected too, stoked!

I do know the vacuum advance is buggered, but, i've had cars with fucked vac advance in the past and they haven't run this rough! Gonna have to rip the head off anyway as when i took it for a blat round the block the other day it started pissing oil between the head and block all over the bellhousing. got a spare set of brand new leads i got for my lancer So will give them a try this weekend. Just to completely eliminate ignition side of things.

Hey y'all, As some of you may know i've recently picked up a factory turbo mirage, it's always ran pretty rough but just enough to get it back from hastings to wellington. I'm completely lost with this turbo-carby wizardry! when it's cold it has a real hard time starting and when it starts you have to sit there with your foot half way to 3/4s on the throttle until it warms up a bit otherwise it bogs down and dies. When it's warm it idles, poorly, and has a bit of a miss when you rev it. When driving if you don't floor it it drives reasonably smooth but when you floor it it coughs and splutters and jerks like an absolute piece of shit then comes right after a bit. You fellas got any ideas on what could be causing it? it doesn't blow any smoke when it's surging or anything, fuel pump seems to be working sweet and plugs and leads are working all gravey. Chur.
