  1. feathersword- cheers mate, yeah he seemed like a good dude super easy and helpful, pretty sad to be getting rid of the rotary chassis he had done as its really well done, yeah i could imagine I'm stoked with it he's done a really good job of it. Bistro- Cheers! the japanese well side has more of a curve in the side where as the nz well side is more flat looking and also the top edge of deck is rounded where is a nz is a square edge, and the tailgates are different. the lower extension has been added, they usually don't have it and it kind of looks funny where it steps up

  10. well got the cab all swapped over today and put new rubber mounts and bolts in, need to run the wiring to tail lights, buy a fuel pump (and wire it in) and hook up the rear brakes before swap the wellside over, after having a good look over it pretty happy with it. lots of jobs to do now -sort wiring out -swap in lsd diff nugget with better ratio -dynamat and carpet -get door cards re-covered to match bench seat -paint exhaust manifold -clean up intake manifold and carb/airbox lots to keep me busy
  11. cool build man, a guy comes into work with a really tidy blue one on steelies and hubcaps it looks really awesome, it will be neat with a rotary! I've also had two cars certified with barry super nice guy
  12. so this turned up today, i had started to lose motivation in the ute with how bad the cab was to repair and was struggling to find another one solid enough to justify buying and carrying on with, then I came across this its a rolling body but was running a 12a, so i brought with the plan to swap the cab and well side onto my chassis. i forgot to take photos until i had already got it onto the hoist but its been panelled and painted at some stage and has the jap well side, and more to the point no rust, so i got stuck into it after work and have disconnected all the wiring, brake lines, handbrake ect and started raising the cab off the chassis ready to roll it out and roll mine under. hopefully get it back on the other chassis tomorrow
  13. haha yeah mate i remember that lancer, its a cool little car
  14. nah not a rebuilt motor sorry, i just chucked in a second hand engine and got it going again

  19. nice mate just widen the standard rims to fill the guards better, looking forward to following your progress, yeah mini lites do look the business on cortinas, its going to look the part when your done
  20. just read your build thread, what a awesome job you have done so far! i love mk2 cortinas, pretty choice you scored some gt seats, what rims are you going with? factory rims widened with hubcaps look cool
  21. finally got some motivation to get back into this so stripped the well side back to bare metal and removed the old plain tailgate and got the mazda embossed one on i stripped all the sides back to bare steel and cleaned up the inside of the tray and painted it all black the new tailgate has no hooks on it and it looks way more cleaner in my opinion so i removed them (they were in bad condition to and had started to get rust hole in the tips) then i etch primed all the bare metal to seal it off, all in all its not in to bad condition some areas need a bit of attention to try straighten up or it may be easier to make up some new pieces to stitch in need to strip the tailgate next, also bench seat is almost finished getting upholstered looking forward to getting that back
  22. awesome video love the widened steelies and hubcap look it never gets old ps i like your shed
