  1. Good to see you folks. That'll be my last meet until November/December, catch the rest of you at nats!
  2. Aite, looks like there is enough interest in this to bring stuff up. I'll give the guy a call and get back to you sparkle.
  3. Flying down now due to stuff happening on the Thursday. Thanks all anyway.
  4. Hi folks, Been in contact with a guy who is getting ride of a whole collection of CB200 and CB175 bits, says he wants the whole lot gone and doesn't want to inventory anything. Is apparently a van/ute/trailer worth. Would anyone be able to have a quick squiz, take some photos, and report back? Beers available at nats if you do. I'm also interested in a frame that's down there, so might be making a trip in the missus's van to pick all the parts up. Unless anyone is coming back with room from nats? Will pay good money if someone is. Chur, Llama
  5. Linear potentiometer would be the go?
  6. Hummm. This has me intrigued, I will do some researchin
  7. Solid state reg should be sweet if it's rated for what you are throwing at it I should think.
  8. Aite, well if anyone else on this thread is picking stuff up and heading to nats, I'll pay beer (monies) if it makes it to me.
  9. Chur muchly. Don't worry about the wiring stuff, but will take the other stuff. You heading up to nats? Else could you chuck it with someone who is?
  10. I'm keen on the welding magnets, wad punch set, dollies/panel beating hammers if they ain't gone already, and the pick set. Is the ratcheting spanner set metric? If so keen on them. Is the the 1/2" Hex drive set metric (or contains metric at least), keen as above. More info on whats in the wiring stuff would be mucho appreciated too.
  11. Yeah, the fluorine makes phosgene when combined with ozone from the welding arc. I'd pretty much avoid any cleaner with lots of chemicals. Isopropyl alcohol works and is cheap and safe. Acetone is OK in small doses too.
  12. I think you mean because someone in the council needs to justify their job.
  13. Thanks fullahs. In process of confirming bookings and suchlike so will be in touch soon.
  14. This is the night before nats, I'm going to be leaving early in the day to start the treck down on the CB. Still haven't booked ferry yet (doh...) but pretty much just need a couch/shed/wagon to sleep the night before getting on the ferry on the Friday. Chur
  15. I will be in attendance. Bike is running (touch wood) and I've sorted the keys-falling-out-of-ignition problem.
  16. Progress on the 350 engine has been made. It chewed up the tach side cam journal, and the cam lobes and rocker arms are all pretty worn. Need to source a new cam, but may be able to get a good one on trademe. Found rockers and tach journal though. Tried yahoo japan auctions but was rather difficult... Will be going up another size in pistons as the bore has corrosion, but the valves and guides were all in good nick. Guy at glen eden engine reconditions has been rather helpful, although had no idea about the crank. Crank feels OK and there is no runout, so I'm not going to have it taken apart. Get the bearings polished to remove the oxidation and hopefully it should be fine. A few gears need replacing, and then we should be set! Might swap out my 200 frame for a 350 frame just to save hassle. Problem is the spare shocks/wheels/brakes I have are all 200 stuff.
  17. I saw one of these in that colour in Pauanui over new years, looked boss
  18. Honda motorcycle oil pumps have the same weird nut thing. What's the diameter of yours? I have a socket you could borrow if it fits. The official service tools are just sockets with prongs, mine is a ground socket like you say. Printed a paper template and went at it with a grinder. Piece of thick pipe would probably do just fine too.
  19. Is this what you were trying to peddle last night? I already got a hall effect sensor and was using a BeagleBoneBlack to test a points replacement before I blew up the BBB
  20. I think new people some of were also Hamiltonians? I made it home after having my keys fall out along the motorway. Coils got pretty warm by the time I could take the seat off (which normally requires a key) to remove the battery as the ignition was stuck on. I think my bike is starting to get jealous of my time spent on the 350.
  21. Yeah already invested in some nylocs and thread locker stuff. Muffler on that side will be OK if I fix it properly, but you might be able to see in VGs pics that the other one is pretty rangi welded tube with a huge dent in the side.
  22. Further vibration woes have ensued, I lost the rear engine mount nut last night, which also holds the earth lead. Probably a good thing the bike died, as I didn't realise what the actual issue was until this morning and it would not have been good driving around like that. The bolt moved out and started hitting the chain, which made me uber-panic because it sounded like I'd dropped a valve or gear or something. Is currently sitting where I'm flatting until I get it home for the weekend to put back together (can't get it back into alignment without loosening the other ones, don't have any tools or garage where I am).
