  1. Cheers guys! Sorry but could never sell the Enkeis! Thanks man, I would if NZ roads weren't crap but I like going fast.
  2. Got some new Watanabes They are 14-6.5j +14.5 with 185/60/14 Yoko S-Drives, really good tyres.
  3. Thanks I do like them! Haha can only just get in my driveway as it is. 215s are putting me off. Want it legal.
  4. Tried them on, They look pretty good but If I wasnt using them for drift wheels I would want to lower her a bit.
  5. Looking good. With discs that beefy the handbrake might work! NB is standard for any light modded NA as you only need discs, pads and caliper brackets. Theres a few guys with serious track/turbo or V8 machines who have some of the more serious brake upgrades.
  6. Wanted some cooler drift wheels rather than stockers, so when these came up for $500 I snapped them up. They are Enkeis Roders in 15-8J +20 and 15-7J +20. Came on 195/45s. 2 Proxes and 2 directionals.
  7. Soo nice, cant wait to see mesh all round.
  8. love it, looks real nice. Cant wait to see what you do with her!
  9. So went drifting at Hampton skidpan, first time I had driven there in 4 months and I got thrown straight into twin car action! Great fun chasing people but real hard when you have no handbrake and 80 odd powers. Anyway heres the vid, enjoy.
  10. 1J DEEEEESUUU This gon be sweet when in. What you gonna do with the 1G?
  11. Good things take time, keep crankin unicorn.
  12. Awesome meet, the 808 on Hayashis had me as soon as I saw it. So amazing.
  13. Painted would look better, I went to a drift day today and had a pretty decent time thrashing. Many people had problems or crashes. I hit the wall in the same spot but harder so she is gonna need some work.
  14. Man you work fast, looks good interesting combo on the driveline. What year is your car?
  15. Once you get apair of fronts its gonna be boss. Boso tips and air horn? I think so.
  16. Im running a 4.1 with 165/60/14(Effectively 4.3), my rev limit is 7250RPM. I was mainly in second but cant link the dam corner at the end of Meremere well. Im thinking of buying a 6-Speed to drop the ratios a bit. Would mean 85K top out instead of 100K and its an easy way to get the most out of this engine. Heres the gearing calc to have a look. http://www.flyinmiata.com/tech/gearing.php
  17. Yeah Keis car can really go! What sort of ratios do the AE and KP boxes have and final drive? I think the main part of my problem is the gearing, second goes up to 100KMH so I have to be going fast or thats it. Your KP was impressive at Keis day but the 4AGE is a way better engine than the B6
  18. Its a second gen Roadster and the thing on the dash is a G meter and throttle brake sensor. Pretty neat but I dont know much more about it.
  19. The iConcept rack ends supply ample lock, I dont need super lock and dont have the power to hold heaps of angle. This is a second hand Torsen but Clutch type for these are hard to find or quite exspensive even in Japan. I have dropped in the dirt with one wheel a few times(In the video I did too) and no issues, could be a combination of no power and an instinct to let off when falling though. I dropped the viscous for this Torsen as its an inch bigger with bigger shafts all around and pretty cheap upgrade. The viscous was useless. I joined Roadster drift a while ago but its a bit on the dead side. Good info and they have said to me Torsen is great as long as you dont pusssy foot it. Only disadvantage I find with the Torsen is in the rain when you let off it unlocks making it a bit unstable(Handbrake solves this) I have yet to loose enough traction on one wheel to make it spin up. It is the same centre as an S2000(Honda bought the diff off Mazda) so it can handle 250HP with ease I dont think there will be any issues. One of my mates has been drifting one in Japan for ages. That and I have never heard or seen of any MX5 Torsen being blown.
  20. Yeah ITBs are always the way, only thing is every single company or person I speak to says dont bother with the 1.6 and a low KMs 1600 from Japan is still about $1000 by the time shipping and thats on there, even though it would just drop in. Many people have said to me the 1800 is much more powerful, I will have to find an NB to test drive because it comes with a 6-speed too(Which Im thinking about for the 1600 but wont bother if Im going to 1800 it since it comes with one) which closes up the gearing. I have got quite a few mods already. Bilstein HDs revalved with 8Kg front and 6Kg rear Tein springs, new sway bushes all round(Looking at upgrading sways though),7" Torsen LSD from a 1.8 which has bigger Halfshafts and driveshaft, Beatrush PPF/Diff brace, iConcept Rack ends which give better lock and are stronger. Next on the list is Radiator, Rollbar and 1.8 Brakes. So it has been all chassis mods so far. That is why Im thinking about power now!
  21. SHUT BRO SNAPPED So today I did the Sway bushes, feels a little better but I think I need bigger sways all around as the roll can be quite horrific. Rolled one guard(Thanks Cole) but the other has bog in it so wont be touching that Replaced my tail light I hit at the Drift day(Vid below) and got that in. Heres the before(Didnt take pics of the new taillight) Just did a compression test too, 175PSI, 175PSI, 185PSI, 175PSI. Not bad for a 200K motor... And here is some footage from the Drift day on wednesday! Wall hit around 13:30 if thats all you want to see, not PG though Been checking out an 1800 VVT Engine and 6-Speed for $2000, might be a better option than ITBS...
