  1. That's awesome, I need some of those mirrors and it should look nicer when I get around to cleaning it and polish up all the chrome Cheers man, will see if I can make the Hanmer trip, have got some stuff on but may be able to fit it in nicely Probably the same one, was in Jville when I saw it.
  2. Picked up some De-solv-it today, it worked well. Sprayed it on and let it soak, then peeled the moulding off and a few minutes cleanup later and I had this. Now to do the rest.
  3. Did a quick search and De-solvit and 3M Adhesive Remover are two citrus based solvents I can find easily so will get some of that and do it this weekend at work. I guess I should also measure up what kind of offset I need
  4. Totally with you on that, it kind of ruins the lines plus the top layer has come off so it's just white plastic. What's the best thing to soften the adhesive with without rooting the paint? I still got some caramel wheel left to get the remaining adhesive off. Yeah I'm glad I waited, I checked out the white one that was for sale a month or so back and that was pretty mucky. I had been watching my one for a while, can't believe noone else wanted it. Hmmmm Hanmer cruise, what date is that? will need to double check my settlement date as that's in August too
  5. 8" sounds good, have power steering so won't need cans of spinach at hand for parallel parks ps could you send me your secret recipe for front springs, HQ's are the ones to look for I hear
  6. Tridens it is, will be good to have new rubber, there are 5 different tyres on the car currently Here are the current rims, crappy phone pic The spare is a multi-hole steel, must be the original?
  7. It all happened pretty quick, called on wednesday, did the deal then took friday off work and flew down. Richy, yup has sweet brown shag carpet in it and on the lower part of the doors too KK what are dadums' wheels like I can't remember. The stock ones have a small but nice amount of dish. Was thinking it would nice to have some jdm alloys but after seeing it without the hubcaps on the inner bogan in me started to stir. Dave I was thinking exact same as you, wide mirror polished tridey's mmmmmm
  8. Discussion - //oldschool.co.nz/phpbb/viewtopic.php?f=18&t=34338 So here is my new set of wheels Always liked the 330 shape, would have liked the wagon or hardtop version but they are hard to find and this was cheap and in good condition. Picked it up from Dunedin, left there at 4pm and arrived in Picton at 2am, 10hrs only stopping for gas. Rained most of the way, was pretty stormy north of chch was freezing while waiting for the 7am ferry and then had a 4m swell in the strait. Was a good trip and it ran sweet the whole way. Here are some pics, it's still dirty from the drive, original hubcaps are in the boot, one came loose so I took them all off just in case. Nice to drive with the lazy auto plus the L26 sounds choice too. Plans are: clean inside and out, lower, wheels, fender mirrors
  9. I like the logo on those hubcaps, will look cool on the wag
  10. Oh my giddy aunt, that's choice I want to see a video of this rolling along stacked with scoots
  11. Actually I remember some old dude I met had a whole bunch of different sized spring type things that were used for bending Like this
  12. I've heard the sand trick works I go down to the exhaust shop and get them to do mine, take a cardboard template of the angle I want. Haven't had to pay them anything yet as they like talking about what you're building
  13. Hey man, you can use my garage if you want, got no vehicle in it at the mo
  14. I should do this too, the last time I took my scoot out at night people laughed at how dim my headlight was at idle lol

Was thinking about Hookworms plus they are easy to get, is the grip that bad? Oh and Kirk, I got this hub off ebay as I couldn't find one in NZ but they seem to go for nz$130+ when they are available

Haven't seen those tyres before, looks like it could be tricky getting hold of some. Some of the Schwalbe tyres like the Crazy Bob's and Fat Frank's look ok too Laced the rims up last night
  17. Might see if I can make it but have to meet up with a real estate agent first. I'll just borrow a suit jacket from the emperor, it's such a sweet jacket but only cool people can see it

That's just a 2.5 mtb, still unsure on what tyres I want, I tried the quick bricks on them but they look way better on the other bike.

Sweet, good to hear that about the hub. I'm just using some spare mtb cranks I have, these in fact Frame is going to be scratch built and yes it will be fucking heavy haha, quite possibly hideously ugly too. At least my hubs will look nice

Yeah, it was originally used to align the front and rear of the bike and was left there because it would have been a pain to do properly. I don't like it either, everything else is sweet now so I might try and change it this winter. Rims are fat shebas, supposed to be used for riding on snow and sand lol
  21. Thought I'd start a thread for my bicycles, getting Summit fever again Here's the bike I took to Summit last year Have made a few changes since then, bars, grips, stem, seat, chain guard, tyres and lights As it is now Hope to have a new steed for 2012 These arrived today, rear is a 2 speed, kick change coaster brake hub Will lace them up to these this weekend Have bought some steel for the frame and will be using the BB and headtube off this 'Full Aluminium Frame'
  22. How about mounting 10 bobsled type push handles then behind each person pushing have an engine with a wooden spoon mounted to the crank. It also combines two awesome activities, revving engines and light B&D
