  1. Thanks Goat. Yeah Nats for sure. I think. One side to do, I might have a look tonight if the power at home comes back on.
  2. Don't worry Karl, Oldschool or Dre, I haven't forgotten. In fact I finished this off tonight. One side to go. More later.
  3. Check out Bean101's build. I saw the 1600 with 4age throttles years ago, it was sweet. //oldschool.co.nz/index.php?/topic/23193-beans-mk1-cortina/page-1 Otherwise what ^they said.
  4. Ok then pal Largely, or not at all? I was starting to go down the track of where the fuck up may lie. But hey try some special sealer or something.
  5. How much got milled off the flange? These have a little interlock that uses one stud to hold the intake and exhaust manifold don't they?
  6. Hi Testament, Just randomly, what is that I see in the background with 15" superlights? Also top work on your drag car!
  7. Ok keep your hair on. I didn't mean you have to use Holden parts to do it. Valiant or Falcon bits will work too if your old diff is a Borg Warner.
  8. D. Find an LSD center and ratio that suits, install it into your housing. Retain your driveshaft flange, brakes, wheels, and housing.
  9. Haha that was kind of the plan. Yeah and some taller bars too. I put BMX bars with pink grips and a bell on it tonight. I'll take it to work tomorrow and see if it maims one of my co workers.
  10. I am too, when It crushes my genitals!
  11. Thanks Felixx. I'm not sure why? I haven't gone anywhere. Anyway. I made this swing bike for the "kids" last weekend. They don't like riding it though. Just as well I do. @Mof Here's one I made earlier. I have bits to make a larger one by the garage door.
  12. I've inherited this for now so I can fix bits of rust and etc when there is time. Here's some photos of rust holes and patches. At lest the floor is done. All that's left to do is now is everything.
  13. Glad to see something happening with this. It looks like it's part rubbed down? Paint soon?
  14. Yep. I have one too if you need it.
  15. Yep BMX Museum has some very good photos on it, I'll enlarge a couple to get dimensions off soon. I spotted your HMX on there it looks sharp Thanks Steelies I spotted that the other night. It looks like a nice bike.
  16. Yeah that's the plan. A twenty six inch Assassin type thing. That's a good idea with your mountain bike. Cut the rear stays off and make it a loop tail?
  17. Thanks Chris. You're welcome to take it for a spin, I'll try and bring it on Saturday. Next? A BMX like a Pantha but with 26inch wheels. I don't have anyting to show of it yet except some reciepts.
  18. Woah! I didn't realise I'd been working on this so long. It's finished! One off seat and pinstriping by top man Bob. http://geared-facile.blogspot.co.nz/ Un cut re chromed Major Taylor stem.
  19. Buy one that's LSD and has the ratio you want already. Head, crownwheel and pinion changes can be a pain and expensive. What spline are the Gemini axles? your 78 will/should be 28 spline.
  20. Hey R100. I've only skim read over your thread so please excuse any reposts. Borg Warner 78 series has a 7.8" crown wheel, 4spider LSD and the axles are 28 spline like a 9" I think if you buy an AU XR6 diff it will be 3.45 to 1 with an LSD. They are long as so you can get them resplined as there is enough meat further the axle to cut a spline back into it. I had a 3.45 in my Valiant with a W50 and 225/50/15s and it ran at about 2750 rpm at 100 km/h I changed back to a 3.23 and it is about 2500rpm with the same tyres and gearbox. It's still a lot of work if there is a factory LSD option you can get.
  21. Laycocks is pretty good, Autoalign too. I did my VG about 5 years ago to the specifications in the Hey Charger book and it's been good ever since. Watch that your front suspension isn't a big worn out mess though. It's a Valiant thing.
  22. Haha, you should. Have you had a look here? http://www.oldbike.eu/museum/1940s/1947-1949/1942-malvern-star-5-star-track-bike/ There is all kinds of interesting things there.
