  1. You can make them steer fine, its all about setting up the trail. That said if you grabbed some front forks that came off a bike that originally had say 25deg of rake and leaned them out to say 30 or 35 or whatever the fck they run then yeah it will steer like shit Also I vote two stroke for max lols.
  2. now the only hole in the thing is the gearshift hole. Stoked. Doing roll cage currently but need to wait for my replacement tube notcher after my shitty chinese tube notcher fcked itself after 5 hours. Turns out in this case it paid off to get shitty at supplier, im getting a better quality replacement, still made in china but an american brand
  3. dont add back half of car bodies to it (eg mx5).So many people seem to do that it looks fugly. Its a trike it shouldnt have a boot ^that one^ looks pretty sweet
  4. yup TDC #1, so that will be fine to trigger with the G4, simply select nissan 360 opto job done. If it was me id change to the 12 trigger speed tech disc too, he reckons the signal is pretty borderline in factory trim. Not essential just gives you a bit more reliability/less likelihood of misfires
  5. They have pretty much everything, they dont have a FJ20 specific one but the nissan 360 opto is what I descrbed in the above post about the 360 outer slots and 4 inner slots. If in doubt like said ring link. It just so happens the link development car is a FJ20et Chevette
  6. fully worked 4k with lumpy cam and 3/4 race water pump ow
  7. I ran a mini with a single down draft weber and approx 270deg duration, was some kelford grind, cant rememebr which now but had around 210 @.050 about (about 260-270 adv duration) was good cam cam on about 3.5k and revd out to 7k. Nice Ropey idle but not a complete slut to drive. I just rang kelford at the time and asked for a fast road cam.
  8. Does the CAS wheel have the 360 litttle slots around the outside and 4 bigger slots on the inside? If so you can probably change out the nissan one for one of those speedtech ones. It *may* even help with the misfire. Have you replaced the leads recently? Also what about coil condition. Its running the correct Spark plugs. Mis fires lick balls they can be such a pain to diagnose!
  9. it would probably be a bit of a pig at idle with a cam that big and a single down draft. Would give you a good excuse to upgrade to sidies/bike carbs though
  10. Pop open the cap and take a wee picture of the insides. Is it a standard Dizzy or does it have an optical cas in it like the later model nissan dizzys? If so you can probably get away with running the link off the standard nissn CAS/dizzy setup although some people swap out the nissan disc 360deg opto disc for a 24 trigger wheel for a more reliable signal (you can buy the trigger wheels from Speedtech though these are for sr/vg/ca/rb etc not sure if that covers FJs) Sorry dont know a great deal about FJs so there may be some easy way of doing it. There may even be a way of using the cas bits out of a sr20 dizzy and mixing matching. Though surely it must be simpler than that. Have you tried FJ20.com to see what they do? Anyway im rambling now i'll stop
  11. Some argue that panhard bars and leave springs fight each other because a panhaard bar moves in an arc it pushes the diff slightly sideways while the leaf springs are trying to locate it too. Definitely get some good quality shocks in the rear. Maybe added another leaf to the spring pack to stiffen it up a little. Wasnt there some models of mk2 escorts that came with a rear swaybar (im not a escort fiend, im going off memory) I reckon add a small rear swaybar and some good quality shocks and the two link would be a good idea too it your going to do drift days
  12. Mates done this. Started with a early 80s front wheel drive 323 wagon. Now has turbo gtx motor turned rwd with mx5 box and narrowed skyline rear end with 17x8 and 17x10s. Defintiely off topic. Are all the mitsi v64wd boxes the wrong way? a la v6 vr4s. What about Those 4 motion vw V6's?
  13. yeah I was going to say celica box. As far as i've heard the celica and evo boxes are the only east-west 4wd boxes that handle decent power
  14. I approve. Will be fun once its got some decent suspension in it. Even with stock motor you'll have a blast someone needs to do a p10 with a sr20ve
  15. pictureless update for now cause can't be bothered uploading photos, but adjustable panhard is made and the diff side mount is made so this weekend the plan is finish mounting panhard bar and install rear coil over springs (hopefully picking them up before the weekend, they are just getting powder coated at the moment) and thats the 4 link all fabricated. Then its some sheet metal to fill in all massive holes I cut and final weld all the brackets on the diff In hindsight I wish I just cut the whole rear out and made a rear clip and tubs a la beams mk1 corty. Would have turned out a bit neater etc, Should still turn out all right in the end, just a slower process cutting, fitting, fouling repeat.....
  16. Tried sending PM, website is failing at sending. Fire me a text on 0273231645. I can help out
  17. cool, like. How did you go about centering the two bell housing halves to tack them up?
  18. haha sweet will do, motivaion is high at the moment so should hace some relatively regular updates
  19. done me some work this ere weekend. knocked me up some turrets then higher chassis rails to clear all the link brackets on the diff so now I need to do a bump stop which i'll probably do by means of a crossmember between the new chassis rails acting on the diff head, then its panhard mount time. Just waiting on some more rod ends to turn up from the states.
  20. Due to working on others peoples car and chasing wimmin my car has been rather neglected but I finally got round to working on my car for the first time in 6 months. Sold my rebuilt LSD diff/shocks/leaf springs to a mate for his 1200 cause I needed money at the time so since I hved to build another diff I thought it was the perfect opportunity to cut me a hole Discussion Thread viewtopic.php?f=18&t=24438

    Head bolts

What about (and this might sound a little dark, but definitely done more than you'd think) Socket head cap screws. They are available in metric and metric fine and are 10.9 or 12.9 grade depending on size. Cheap as f*ck, strong and you could torque them up higher than factory quite happily I'd say. I can give you there Unbrako catalog in PDF Form which lists the torque to yield seating torques for each size just to be safe before you went and brought them. As long as there torque to yield torque is higher than factory torque setting and you can get them in the right length I'd say you'd be fine. Your call, But i'm guessing they would cost less for 14 SHCS than it probably did for one of your toyota studs haha.
