  1. Someone should message me on Tuesday and tell me I'm a useless piece of shit if I don't make this.
  2. This thread seems like a good place for this link: https://www.maxbetteridgedesign.com/building-the-flat-white Really love how this looks and quite interesting build thread including some shots of his mould making for granite fibre moulding.
  3. I did some small patches that took fuck all time on the weekend and wondered why it took me so long to pull my finger and do it. I forgot to take other pics, and even if I did, my welding is shit, but yeah, you get the idea. Also building a speaker box to sit behind my head. It's really basic, because I can't woodwork. Or metalwork really. But anyway, means i don't cut up the door panels, which are good ones, and no one seems to have some cheap ones for me to fuck up. Did do an awesome emo photoshoot for Insta.. https://www.instagram.com/p/Be115sDnsDs/?taken-by=tinker.workshop
  4. Nah sorry, bit of work on that needs to be done.
  5. I have ply and possibly some perspex at the shed...
  6. I've only owned one BMW with an M52, and I fucking hated it. Perpetual cooling issues. Clapped out electrics. /lingish post
  7. You could charge them for that, pay for gas.
  8. Agreed, I feel that tarp would look sweet as facing out for all the irony to be on display.
  9. Traffic reports welcome. Deciding if I can be fucked.
  10. Had it idling, was listening to it and it sounded a bit grumbly. Like the water pump was a bit off. Added a jug of water. Perfect. Basically got that whole Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance/completely in tune with my machine thing down with this car now.
  11. 1.6mm is in. Works. Thank fuck, complete mare to get them in.
  12. Check that. Fou d a pack of washers. Should I go for the 1.6mm or 1.9mm spacing? Such fun decisions to make
  13. No, no shims. Only needs about a mm of clearance. Pain in the arse. Only have spring washers too. Off to Ripco.
  14. I've replaced the old starter with a new hi-torque job, which does a great job of cranking it, but after a bit of a test drive revealed it was squealing as it is ever so slightly hitting the ring gear. The teeth on the starter cog are just brushing the ring gear. Flexplate is torqued and correct. Solutions? File cog? Space starter with washers between starter mount bolts and bell housing? Something else?
  15. Grew some balls. Drove it up West Coast Road to home. Made it. Everything but a wof. Calling that a tick on the goals for the year.
  16. Just drove 2.7 kms to the alignment shop. Furtherest its been in years. Some pain in the arse oil leak i cant quite track down. Back to the shed...
  17. Tank seems sealed. Replaced Tierods, inner and outer, but seems like the replacements I got were about 0.8 -1.2mm smaller and didn't fucking work, so wasted a day and all out of whack now from disassembly/reassembly and didn't get to the alignment place in time for the WOF before Xmas I had planned. Still, looks fucking dope. Any protips on getting it reasonably straight and driveable alignment wise I can do myself before getting it dialled in properly?
  18. 205/70 or 205/75 tyres? It's slammed pretty low, so I'm thinking the extra 10mm of sidewall could help stay on the right of legal and bumps, but it could also guard rub. Send your answers on the back of an envelope to here:
  19. Have done before. Zero fucks response.
  20. Joy, I have this on the shelf from head gasketing the EB. Win. I also have aviation sealant. I just want the c*&ting thing done.
  21. So, started draining the tank. And then I'm looking at it and thinking, and realising that the leak is odd, given i resealed the tank. And I ponder it a bit, and look at it some more once I get the tank drained a bit. And now you see what I see... So I tipped the now mostly empty tank on an angle and all the petrol is pushing on the sender seal... That's right, once again a Rarespares replacement part is a complete bag of fucking shit, and the new sender seal isn't actually sealing. Anyone got a recommendation on the right sealer to put on this to hold the fuel in, because i really don't want to be covered in petrol anymore. Thank you kindly.
  22. That FB page is full of awesome stuff. She's a beautiful boat.
