  1. That could suit as will be fishing in the am. Where is tow yard?
  2. What time on Sunday you planning on being up?
  3. Things that I'd be asking would be: If AFR's were out do you know how to edit the fuel map for ecu? How will you limit boost to those figures? I imagine you will need different fuel maps for different boost levels? Can you resist urge to do a skid? Thats where I reckon I'd come unstuck tbh
  4. This imo Without knowing too much about the running in/tuning process myself I would say err on the side of caution. Would suck a fat one if it all went awol on you.
  5. I have never had any issues with cars that have bolt in silencers (mrs' car has a fart cannon I haven't yet replaced from when we bought it). Guess it depends on your wof man, and their interpretation of the rules. IIRC it reads something like 'cannot easily be adjusted' or some shit. The fact its bolted in mean it requires a tool to remove it, hence not easily adjusted. I only got it one wof with the silencer in as it was starting to rust so decided to leave it out. Getting wof's with just the fart cannon have been fine, and my mechanic says its sweet legally, but he's a family friend so I don't know if he actually bothered to measure the dBA (I doubt it). Just don't drive it like a dick and you should be sweet, works for the mrs, that said it drones too much for my liking and muffler/fart cannon will be replaced as funds allow.
  6. Hey clint, are you able to confirm what cheater has said re bolt on spacers? Do all spacers require a cert? If not, what do/don't?
  7. Sorry, was referring to ryans case. And yep, biffing airpump would throw out factory specs, though surely there is a way around this? The airpump systems for emissions was a farce.
  8. Factory emissions specs based on what? The car or the engine that has been swapped in?
  9. ^ Thought I recognised it, forget his name but he came up to mine to grab a motor I had. Was a tidy car when I saw it.
  10. Would be ideal if you could borrow a set in the size and offset you want to see IRL how it looks. Would suck if you got reyums from japan and got sick of them after a bit I would imagine!
  11. Are you unkeen to fiddle with the guards on the front to get some lower offset?
  12. trailer park boys Now thats worth watching
  13. WWJD? I never thought there would really be a "skids for kids" event. Mind blown
  14. My gripe is that to get the correct rolling diameter on 15x7's I need either 185/50's or 195/45's. The 185's are much more common and cheaper, and I wouldn't call this in pursuit of an image or stretch, the simple fact is that there would be absolutely no stretch with the 185's anyway, if I wanted to have stretched tyres I would have gone for spacesavers or something equally rediculous. 185 equals 7.4 inches, so why is that not legal on a 7 inch rim? Imagine that its unlikely to be an issue with a GC cert man, and as stated on the sheet above they refer to it if presented with obviously mismatched tyres and rims. note: I appreciate most here don't give a shit about my tiny 7 inch wheels, just having a vent.
  15. The above list seems like overkill to me, I mean 195 minimum on a 7" I would have said that would be in the 'ideal' range - as its pretty flush/borderline balloon. Having not got a cert - nor will I for while, are wheels always tagged on the cert plate? Obvious ways around this, re changing tyres/wheels after cert. But what happens when Joe Bloggs puts some 185's on his otherwise factory car that happens to have 7" wheels stock, or even just slaps some rims on his [insert standard car here], as that does not require a cert?
  16. Oh cone at the beige van, reckon they can get the sliding door open?
  17. Thicknesser looks the bizzo! Mate have to say you were a bit keen burying that saw to split the wood! Look slike it paid off though! Add my name to the list of watching with interest...
  18. Nothing special, just swapping fxgt disc brakes onto my liftback which came with drums. Its a straight bolt up job.
  19. Hey bo, I checked for that handbrake cable - I only have one spare and plan to keep it for now incase something happens during my drum-disc conversion. As far as I can tell the hand brake cable is identical between the drums and discs models. Hard to measure as one set is on the car - but it looks like both have the same cable end bits (whatever they are called), and length must be almost the same if not exactly.
  20. haha, sounds familiar, Mate's old man is a builder has all the gears, the one we used was non portable, pretty industrial - fucker was pretty heavy. I had done a bit with the angle grinder - took about an hour plus to get roof off and most of the way through the floor pan - then realised some shit was double walled - pulled out the recip and was finished in 5 mins and 2nd car chopped in another 10. When we were loading the shells on the trailer could smell gasoline. Then clicked the recip had cut through all the lines on one of the cars...not smart
  21. Looking at the chop of the red one, those chassis rails looks pretty thin gauge and no reinforcing plates? I imagine the recip cut through it pretty swiftly?
