I think he means resistant colour fade rather than heat transfer though. Problem with anodising is its not always a good bond with the metal so can flake & rub etc. For a inlet plenum I would have said powder coating may be your best bet cost wise? Shouldn't get too hot? thought? Otherwise procoat

nah my mate with the landcruiser got his from that holmart site I posted and it was around $6-7k landed so sorry simon but I don't think $11.5k is realistic - no offence meant. Ok it's got the corvette plastic covers and it's already here so maybe a couple of grand more, but then again it's not new new. so less than $10k for sure. Then again if you can sell it to some mr. moneybags old man holden fan then maybe you can get that I don't know. $6-7k sounds about right, would that be gearbox-less though? T56's are about 3-4k on top of that iirc

oops got my negative and positive offset mixed up - my bad ah yep makes sense now, yeah looking at my wag theres a massive gaping hole at the rear - could probably get 1.5-2 inches wider guard side - and maybe squeeze 1 inch wider up front

Sorry for getting OT but, are you sure re -ve offset? As AU and BA's have 36 ish positive offset standard (ie my xr6 alloys that wagon came with are this). Pre-AU's had around 0-6p offset.

Ackshully IIRC police had AU falcoons? they have correct offset/pcd so will try to commandeer some. Looking forward to this projects progress, old commy wagons bring back school day memories.

Cop steels - where are they able to be purchased from (besides occasionally on TM)? Also what offsets? And available in 5x114 for BA ford falcon or only in holden stz?

lol, yeah they are big with honda's. Def not the same as those other ssr's though, are mega positive offset and yeah single piece. Not sure if I will keep them yet, are super lightweight though edit: lubs to zeb for his straight talkin'

Not a car update but finally finished something ... had a shit day and couldn't check out those hiace trucks so when I got back home I needed to vent in the garage. A while back 10speed was offering up a tool chest for free so I took him up on it. And tonight I just about finished restoring it, still has dings here and there that I couldn't get out out but I reckon it scrubbed up quite well - even though its just going to get filled with filthy tools. Colours are a satin chocolate (quite glossy for a satin) and satin Beige (finish is quite matt compared to chocolate). Pics for your viewing pleasure: (flash buggers it up a bit though) Should get some work done on the car tomorrow - plus chopping up my two spare shells to go to the scrappies.
