  1. Not concerned about cert, will need a cert to get it as jacked low as i'd like. So figure I may as well upgrade the brakes rather than spend all the coin overhauling / buying all new stock stuff. I'll need to deliever Tofu to Barry's Bay, so brake fade is something i'd like to eliminate at the same time.
  2. Yeah that's true, that will solve the balance issue I guess. Will look into that side of things, cheers.
  3. AE70 - drum rear, disc front. Negatives to upgrading only the front brakes to bigger discs / better calipers and leaving drums on rear. Assuming piston sizes don't negatively impact on pedal feel. How will the braking of the vehicle be affected? Will things go pear-shaped balance wise due to the much better braking performance up front compared to factory? Suspension will be upgraded, tyres will be appropriate, with zero power increase. Just wanting increased braking performance.
  4. Yeah just got a reminder on there, i'm going senile I think. I knew I had seen something, my bad. I've even clicked to go at some point.
  5. I thought there was one up, but that may be the case. May have been removed / never existed / aliens.
  6. Is it this Wednesday? Same place, same time, same sharns?
  7. FWIW Repco have some specials on globes this weekend. Quite a few 50% off.
  8. Should have got a technician on the chob m9. My first thought was a bend and a thermo housing. Then I got distracted and forgot to post. Hope that helps. /post more car pics pls
  9. That paint is looking miinnnnnnt! I have to ask though, how is @RUNAMUCK appearing in this photo twice?
  10. Must be hard to see through all the blue smoke up there.
  11. Someone can have my spud fries, won't be able to make it this week
  12. Sweet spoiler! I think with mounts you're supposed to keep them all the same type? If going for cert I think that is the case anyway. /ling out
  13. At least someone has some sense then
  14. Nakata Ltd. Grab Google translate app for your phone, it's amazing. (if that is correct anyway) /beaten edit: it goes nuts on the back window...
  15. One hook slides over the thread, the other is used for clamping. with a tube for spacing as required. Go pretty well, bolts might need replacing in 30 years or so, apart from that, all good.
  16. I might be a bit late, but make some at school? I can take a photo of mine if wanted. I didn't make them, but they are solid as fuuuuck. I'd trust them over the ones you buy with cast hooks.
  17. Thanks for asking that one, I was resigned to trying to fix mine for the corollas next WOF. Don't have to worry now, choice.
  18. Looking good, flash guy with his painting, my workbench is still MDF / pine lol. Not as good as that crop outside, but good none the less.
  19. Can someone with the skills update the title on the other thread, for those too lazy to read more than thread titles
  20. 500A, is that for welding ships?
  21. Depends what you plan to use the welder for 100% thin metal, or wazz some 10mm bits together for a laugh. I had a 10A plug on my welder for a short time, while I waited for sparky to run me a new wire / plug. It worked fine, I just kept the power level down on the welder. Long term it would be a good idea to have a decent wire run to garage to cover the likes of welder / compressor etc. Saves spending money on a jaycar magical (legal?) adaptor. I have a 15A plug in garage now which I plug welder / compressor into (plus whatever else). I also made an extension lead up with 15A bits so I can use it with a bit of flexibility. That is the ideal solution I think. A sparky will confirm / deny.
  22. I always have the thought in the back of my head that there is more to go wrong with a 3 in 1 unit, in the lower end price range at least. I have a 180A BOC Magmate MIG, does everything I need. The plan was to get a TIG too, but I never really felt the need after getting the MIG. YMMV.
