I hope someone paid you good money to take those wheels off their hands

Update time! Just spoke with the garage. One bent intake valve, three mushroomed exhaust valves, and valve seats that are round. So best case scenario really (seriously). Will replace the stuffed valves and machine the seats (hopefully stay within spec etc), otherwise new inserts. Pretty happy with the outcome, nothing else untoward they could find.

Anyone want to help me celebrate my birthday this weekend with a fun filled night camping? Weather looks like it could be OK (but when has bad weather ever stopped us). Could hit up one of the usual spots, or try something different? The Holdsworth camp just out of Masterton looks pretty slick, bit further away mind you. @Mourning Cupcake @Seedy Al @Goat @bmxnz11 @Big Value Buddy @Steelies @baby k @KKtrips @Shaz @AllTorque @shavenYak @grunta @My name is Russell

Piezometers (fancy holes) to measure water pressures in the dam and foundation. I get the data from them (and other assorted instruments) and asses if the dam is behaving itself or not

We have some old ones at work (ecnz days), I’ll have a dig and see what’s there. Also have a few of the ones I think you are talking about keen for power station hunting. Heading to waikaremiana next week actually

Wicked cheers. And when adding fuel, EGT's are a pretty much must have to keep things safe yeh?

Sorry for the hijack, but seems to be some smart diesel peeps looking in on here. How important/beneficial is a intercooler for a standard application? I have rd28t in my Gloria wagon, straight out of a gq I believe (non-intercooled). Everyone is telling me to put an intercooler on (a lot of whom don't own turboed diesels), but is it necessary? Or do I need to measure the EGT's and/or intake temps first to decide? Will I see any benefits if the EGT's and/or intake temps are OK to begin with?
