  1. loving the work mate, some serious coin and time being spent. just a thought, did you think of using high density foam for your pod design? i have used it a few times for moulds and it is very easy to work with. also a lot easier/quicker to shape than wood. might be a bit late, but maybe a thought for the future cheers
  2. cheers man, will let you know if i get it
  3. anyone in invercargil on here? there is a scooter on trademe im looking at getting, but i am located in the place they call church of the christ. so anyone in invers that could pick up for me and hold on till i sort out how to get it here? or someone that may be headn to chch at some stage and could bring it up? (its a wee one lol) will repay with suitable beverages/other forms of payment etc etc
  4. if hes using carbon fibre i doubt there will be much 'buzzn' going on
  5. what he said^ just need to make sure you have the right head gasket for the right engine, ie cast or alloy, and yeh keep in maintained
  6. that place i was thinking of is most likely the matipo st regassers like brocili said
  7. ahhh you are so wise, completly forgot it was matipo
  8. on blenheim road, driving away from town, near the caltex on the left i think, there is a sign that says stuts regassed while you wait etc....the shop is down one of the roads off blenheim might be worth a look
  9. read through this thread, there are a fair few ideas tossed around. i ended up putting it in the too hard/im poor/lazy basket. there is no such thing as a simple engine swap (generally) and to be honest its a hunter lol, it took me a while to accept that. i seriously considered supercharging it, would work out cheaper, and be pretty radtastic i feel. then i realised im a poor student with nill fabricating skills haha. but like flawless said, give it a half decent tickle and you'll be surprised. i know i500gt has a bloody nice set of twin carbs for a hunter lying about as he has my old hunter and they were spare. get a nice cam regrind, lightened flywheel, exhaust.....you might be surprised
  10. i semi looked at this when i had my hunter last year. pretty much a case of pick an engine and make it fit... there is a hunter on the internet somewhere with a fj20 turbo in it, is pretty sick.
  11. oh and also, if this goes missing, i may/may not have riden it home.....
  12. is it like that washing machine on trademe where it vibrates so much it tries to escape? haha
  13. go bonnet back today. looks good. now i have no money. and by no money i mean no money. putting car away for the summer now
  14. yeh, im sick of getting shit in my eyes lol
  15. yeh good point....but it would be nice to clean it up. although knowing me ill probably just not bother, as id find broken stuff eg bushes and that. then again it seems a shame to strip car for paint and not take an extra day of to to make the underside look nice. would just be black paint
  16. im going to try, but like i said, im heading back up to hamilton. i have a week or so after exams and then im coming back down to chch for a week over new years, so will probably be pushing it. plan on fully stripping and painting all suspension, drivetrain etc so yeh, will prbably be a lengthy procedure
  17. this will be cream haha, ive got the paint, just going to wait till after exams, and probably summer as i head back up to hamilton for the summer
  18. like this Gaz? and yes, my photoshop/paint skills are superior
  19. pretty much just going to rock this for ages until i have enough money/time to paint it properly lol
