  2. You can, you would need to follow the rules in the CCM (car construction manual) You can buy individual chapters of the manual on the lvvta website, I think it's about $10 a chapter
  3. https://lvvta.org.nz/documents/standards/LVVTA_STD_Seatbelts_& Seatbelt_Anchorages.pdf
  4. Looks ok. The rod end will need a jam nut to lock it into the blue sleeve thing, make sure the threads go in 1.5x thread diameter, make sure the rod end doesn't bind at full suspension travel, including compressing the bump stop a bit, the rod end will need a large flat washer as a failsafe , and the bolt that holds it on should have a shank that is a good fit in the arm
  5. That would be 300% more fun than parking in a carpark and looking at mustangs
  6. I wonder if @Mr Vapour can blast plastic things successfully I was wondering the same thing today on a plastic grille and light surrounds
  7. I had ideas of building one but they always look weird. I thought if you got 2 bums of the same vehicle and cut them in the same place then joined them together that might look better
  8. somewhere I have a video of a pink viva with a v8 in it at meremere, it had matching painted pink tri spoke billet looking wheels would have been around 96 or 97
  9. Roof looks good! Haven't seen that style on a beetle before, it suits it
  10. The only time I write down the offset is if it's close to the maximum amount. Which is heaps. 35% of rim width positive or negative. It's not very often that offset is an issue. And most cars that get certified wouldn't have a lot of room for changing the offset by a significant amount without introducing other issues like tyre rub or the wheel hitting the suspension or something
  11. Technically, yes it would need cert if it's not a catalogued replacement for that model vehicle. A scallywag would possibly do something devious like try and obtain a wof and probably succeed if it bolts on with no mods, and works correctly, as you would need to be a big toyota crown nerd to know what the oe one looks like, and I only know one of those nerds and he doesn't work at a compliance center. You will need a cert for the 186 swap anyway so I dunno why you are asking silly questions David.
  12. Yes, unless it meets the criteria in the standard for not having to have one. https://lvvta.org.nz/documents/standards/LVVTA_STD_Exhaust_Gas_Emissions.pdf
  13. Nah if it's registered prior to 2010 it doesn't need a cat.
  14. I bought a foam bed roll thing Then I realised scooter has a battery, durr. and I have a 12v pump and air mattress which takes up less room than foam thing My sleeps are going to be lush
  15. that silicone "vacuum" hose collapsing, have had a car do that before, and the brake booster didn't work very well afterwards... nice job on the car, looks like good quality work going on there. Should be a lot of fun to drive
  16. Have seen 80kph downhill with no regard for how it sounded at the time, but the speedo seems a bit optimistic, will GPS check and report back
  17. Meh... It does go better but it's no rocketship. It is quite heavy for wat it iz It did go up a steep grassy hill that I didn't think it was capable of though.
  18. Got a letter for jury duty. One of the trials is expected to take 6 weeks. Have also included a letter from employer Hope that's enough to get me off lol
  19. It appears mainland rain is not listed in forrest's comprehensive rain list
