  1. Was talking to KK last night, he says there's always something going on so we're gonna meet up and crank out some awesome
  2. Alpine / Pioneer Spend cash, do it right.
  3. Pfft... If your car was a 1920something Dodge then yeah, but downgrade = lame Especially when 18r was still a factory option in them cars. Just stick a 6R sticker on it and pretend nothing ever happened
  4. Read the thread 'bout 18Rs? 18R = 3X better than 6R. maths and shit
  5. Operation Credible Sport involved a prototype cargo plane fitted with forward facing rockets designed to slow the plane down very quickly for landing on short runways Could look into a similar setup mounted on the roof. Alternatively, MX73 brake / strut conversions seem to be a common upgrade. Don't know what is involved in fitting them though, but I do have some if you want them.

    Alternator

Alternator pulley not level with crank pulley?
  7. Alright. This here is a pre-update. Car has been running pretty mint for the last year, driven all over the island, towed numerous heavy objects, been slept in, drunken in, partied in etc But now it's time for some upgrades. The engine is feeling pretty tired, the gearbox is on its last legs. Diff is making all sorts of unsatisfactory noises. Dodgy bits of rust are annoying me, paint is sun damaged, interior needs a revamp and electrics are a bit on the downhill side of things.. Soo... This winter the car will be torn down in to lots of little tiny pieces and cleaned up, replaced, upgraded etc. Basic plans include a new 5/7M-GE (5M head on 7M block), possibly with some form of forced induction, a new gearbox, and new diff. Rust repairs, new / better condition panels and doors Upgrade to a lot of the electrics, install an alarm Hopefully get a new coat of paint and chrome on the outside, and recover the seats. Pretty much everything on the list I posted a year ago... I am wanting to get it back on the road and certed come summertime, but that probably won't be possible But oh well. Anyway, some goodies I have acquired, and to fill my image quota.
  8. Yeah sucked in shit and worn out the cylinder. They work pretty much the same as a car engine, so worn rings, damaged valves and fucked gaskets cause lack of compression
  9. Seals / rings / whatever it is in the compressor could be worn out and not sealing any more
  10. Possibly, but the one you currently have is most likely better. Just take it to a carbie shop and get it reconditioned.
  11. Meh, tired. I read 'em as I see 'em
  12. Huh? Strombies don't have electric anything..
  13. How many crowns on OS are still running factory engines? I vote 2JZ
  14. Paint looks sweet. Could park it on a beach and it would disappear
  15. Does it run better if you spray something flammable down the carb? Does it vomit black smoke out the back? Compression test. Do it.
  16. Almost fires how? Will have a clean bang, spin the engine a bit and cuts out again? Or backfiring spluttering stuttery firing? If the former, you either have a fueling issue or a spark issue. Compression could also be a problem, or timing could be too far retarded. If the latter, your timing is all up the shitter. Got a timing gun and compression tester?
  17. Your battery is flat. Add more turbo.
  18. Pretty sure this just happened. 10 - five is denying any anal violation of a stick. But then he is a homo. So yeah. BBQ's every day. Also watched Si and Pete sleeping. Would have been creepy for them had they seen me...
  19. What happens when ya blast engine start / brakleen / carb clean down the carbie while cranking? Fires up and runs till ya stop spraying? Or just goes bang / pop / backfire Pump the carb, do ya see a spray / mist in it? Any fuel in the float bowl? Yeah. Try stuff and see what happens.
  20. Prob pink sticker etc Cops are pretty good like that
  21. So what's a ballpark figure for a good tune?
  22. Whipped up a kitset ignition system awhile ago, yet to put it to use as the engine I'm gonna run it on is still in pieces. Slapping electronic stz together is pretty simple. Will look into it some more I think. Was looking more into links just coz of ease of use / lazy etc.
