  1. Seems a bit unlikely it'd need bleeding again after an hour of running? Turned it off and back on a few times with no issues. I'll snoop around for leaks and see what's up. Maybe the shitty spring clamps are not clamping as good as they should.
  2. Alrighty dear buddies I replaced the fuel pump with my known good one, and the car ran mint. Idled fine, rev'd fine, etc. Drove it around a bit, boosted up and was quite a bit quicker than previously (to be expected, it now as a turbo.) Boost and fuel are still at factory default. Anyway, tonight I decided to drive it home so I could get the exhaust done tomorrow. However when I stopped at an intersection, it died. The fact the battery was fucked didn't help. Swapped in a good battery, but now the car does not want to idle very happily. I had to crank the idle speed up a notch to keep it alive. Sounds very much like it's dropped a cylinder or 2, but picks them back up once revs are increased. Ideas???
  3. Kidnap them and stuff them in the boot if you have to.
  4. Here is a fully assembled 3L-T, awaiting installation. And mostly installed. Right, the plan was to have this thing running for Wagnats. Which it sort of was.. However the fuel pump decided to be a major faggot, and did a very poor job of putting fuel in the engine. The result was a 1200rpm readline with a lot of coughing and spluttering. After ignoring the car for a few weeks, I figured it was about time I actually swapped the pump with my known good one. So I did. Yup, car finally runs, and it runs fucking fine! I haven't yet played with the boost or fuel, but it still has a noticeable increase in power. Once I install the pyro and boost gauges, I should be able to tweak it to a bloody good state. 'Till next time.
  5. Bent is plausible, especially if they have been sitting awhile and seized up a bit.
  6. Might wanna make sure nothing is bent. One of my cars has the same issue, but I have yet to look at why. From what I've heard, shocks can make a difference too.
  7. 'Tis much better to vent your oil to asmosphere than into the cooling system.
  8. Was in the process of swapping the pump with my known good one, however the pulley nut is on so motherfucking tight and I have no way of undoing it. 2' power bar with another 2' extension pole on the end wouldn't cut it. Rather annoying.
  9. Fuel is brand new Filter is brand new
  10. Pull off radiator cap, chuck in a thermometer. Turn engine on from cold, wait until you see the water start moving through the hole and see what temperature it's at.
  11. Damn right I'm winding the fuel up. I don't mind if it blows smoke off boost. Compensators are for chumps.
  12. That sounds exactly like what mine is doing. So yeah, probably is.
  13. Uh, it's a diesel. It runs lean on everything but full throttle. Valve clearances should be sweet as It was previously running fine prior to the block-swap Cam timing is also sweet. This is a very irregular, irratic miss going on. The only consistancy is it gets more frequent as the revs increase, to the point where the engine will not rev any higher and will lose power with more throttle due to coughing and fucking around so badly.
  14. Why do they run vacuum locking? Quieter? Electronic actuator clunks are too annoying for some people?
  15. Had it idling for 10 odd minutes, maybe more, drove it around the carpark, blipping throttle etc. I did discover the turbo I had on it was blasting a shit tonne of oil out of the compressor and into the engine, but swapping it for another turbo didn't really make any difference to how it ran. Hopefully the 2nd turbo isn't also leaking..
  16. Yeah the little vacuum butterfly works, I suspect correctly. It moves around anyway. I haven't touched the car in a while, but will give things another go tomorrow. If it still fails, I'll swap the pump. Not fussed about boost compensation, I don't care if it vomits black smoke everywhere. It adds to the awesome.
  17. As long as the temp stays consistant you should be fine. Maybe throw a bottle of cleaner through the system to remove any accumulated crud.
  18. That and you're pumping hot air from the engine bay through the radiator, so it will be, in technical terms, gay.
  19. Had a rather jolly weekend. Cheers fellows.
  20. Yup. bled the crap out of it, fuel lines are where they should be, pretty sure the timing is where it should be No boost compensator on the pump, it's just an NA one. It should have run fine before hand, but as it was a new block with a fuel pump already attached, I can't really say. Might swap the pump for my original one and see what happens.
  21. Shit gotta leave soon too. Criz is a no go. Massive gay.
  22. Only you could see a massive cock in the weather.
