  1. Yeah man do the front oil cooler for sure!! I think it will just add to this cars style.. and as you said will be hellafunctional lol. Dont forget the looping lines thru the grille too (: MEAN
  2. I like the new look.. was a bummer bout the broken axles tho, was looking foward to seeing the burnouts. We spoke to you guys at powercruise, my husband drives the blue rx3 coupe, was giving you a hand with the bonnet. See yous round maybe at amatuer drifting in Aucks.. ..
  3. Well i've been doing a bit more here and there. Decided on taking the old front guards completely off and get some good seconds or fibreglass ones eventually. The bonnet is not too bad. went over the rough bits with sandpaper and rust killer What a sight under the guards!! 40 years of muck And rust!! The other side was not so bad, just went over these bits with a grinder
  4. Sorry for the lack of updates but I have alot more rust under the paint than I expected so its taking longer to get any visible progress =( My other issue is that I dont have a garage so weather has alot to do with the amount of work done lol
  5. Hahahaha......nah its called xrylic red (sposed to be soooo red that it looks black in most light =)
  6. yeah I think I will stick with the 1300 for now, speed is not my intention =)
  7. I have replacement guards from a panel van that Im going to attach at some point, have tacked a couple on to have a play around with positioning and find a look that I like. In all honesty the only thing that Im sure on what Im doing with this car at the moment is the colour lol
  8. I was told by the last owner that it is a 1300GT, has the badge etc but not really sure and the flares look like they have just been hacked and then had fibreglass riveted on and then all covered with a foot of bog lol
  9. Sorry....will try to make pics bigger on next update lol. Apart from the mangled guards it does seem like its in good condition, took me ages to get them out as bolts hadnt been moved before by the looks of them and also cause Im not the biggest of girls so I dont have that much force behind me lol.
  10. 1). Personally I dont like the 'bulgy' look of the flares (I love the original shape) but some Mk1s are done quite well and dont look too bad lol. 2). Just planning on restoring to an original look with a nice paint job and decent sounds, not interested in being fast or anything. 3). Problems so far have been: Dont have all the parts yet and I dont think the car has ever been taken apart before, everything is very difficult to remove lol (took a whole day to get the struts out)

  12. Project discussion - viewtopic.php?f=18&t=25915 Hey there, my name is Sam and Im new to this forum. Here are a few pics of my 1st project, a Mk1 Escort Coupe. I have started taking the brakes out to upgrade to Mk2 which meant alot more work than anticipated!! Have also removed horrible rally bubble flares and am in the process of rebuilding the guards.
