  1. I'll see if I can borrow the dongle this weekend and investigate.
  2. So Bridgeport + GT37 is near enough. I dislike getting tuning info from the internet. Looked into getting an adapter, $90AUD for one from Microtech, however, I know where one is so may pull fuel on the weekend if time allows.
  3. What engine is that off Dave?
  4. Plenty of B outs, however, all the evidence was lost when a mate lost his SD card.
  5. I'll find out once I ring them. I don't mind jumping through a few hoops in order to get a good tune.
  6. This one? http://www.racingbeat.com/manuals/timingchart.pdf
  7. I'll have to look further into the timing, not sure what the timing map is doing, the info is just what I was given by the Tuner. Brent: I'm planning on using the Green Brothers (incidentally they're old family friends & I only put 2 & 2 together recently). I'll be contacting them tomorrow once I have cash in hand from selling the Levin.
  8. I too Steve, an unaware of what damage retarded timing can have. (4 Degrees off factory specs)
  9. Went to give it a road tune ourselves on the weekend, turns out you need specific Microtec Adaptor thingy to do this. I could buy one, but with a tune on the near horizon, it's not worth it. Separate Parties
  10. After having several engines go bang on their dyno I suppose they didn't want this one to pop either? (Found this out after I had mine tuned)
  11. Cartune originally had 12 degrees in this thing = 235kw atw Put 2 more degrees in it and got 251. With this still being 5 degrees out from where it should be, it should make another ~30-40kw just through timing alone.
  12. Spencer: You're correct, unfortunately I don't have the hardware to pull fuel out, AFR is sitting around 10:1 across the board, which is fine under boost conditions as this is what Mazda had factory, however at idle it's not much leaner which is my major issue with the tune. The boost controller has leaned out the low end boost to ~11:1. Dave: Yea, it's currently running 14 degrees advance, it should be between 17 & 19. Unfortunately Cartune didn't want to advance the timing any more than this, or lean it out further. Had I known more about AFRs and IGN timing at the time I would have taken it elsewhere. Onwards and upwards, a proper tuner will be doing the full tune.
  13. So after running wastegate spring pressure (12PSI) since the initial run in tune, yesterday I hooked up the AVC-R. Boost is coming on sooner and, from just off idle, it's pulling harder right through the rev range. The car is now making 12 PSI at around 3400, rather than the previous 4000rpm. The rev cut was set at 6500 rpm for the run in tune, this now needs to go to develop the full potential of the setup. Since the run in tune was so rich, the AFRs are still fine (actually, still quite rich) so there is more fuel to be pulled out of this. My Levin has sold (Pending Payment) so this mean that I should have it re tuned by the end of next month. And who knows, once I've had lunch I may even put up some pictures.
  14. "Bouncy bouncy, having such a good time!"
  15. LADA OVERLOAD! What does the future hold for this Chris / Tara?
  16. Maybe. I find the Cock & Balls to be expensive. Alehouse is sweet though. What about The Cook? Foundation at Te Awa is sweet, but once again expensive.
  17. Just convince le wifey to build a Mega Shed of Tara. Rent out to excessively steve to recoup costs. Profit
  18. This is soo sweet, Stef and I had many a LOL when you picked this up at Hawkes Boes.
  19. Yea, I'll bring my oldest car (The FD).
  20. ANNND, this is tomorrow!! Is that you Troy?
  21. Indeed, you can even have my Metal Mulisha one if it takes your fancy? I had a shitload of Mk2 parts that I only got rid of a few months back. Oh well. Should do mean 2nd gear clutch dumps, in the wet, with diesel on the road, with 155s on it...
  22. Retune will pull atleast 1/3rd of the fuel out.
  23. We could all just bridgeport turbo up? However, I would require substantial sums to cover the cost in petrol (~$130 for the round trip).
