  1. arrow wheels = 4.5k. unless i win lotto tomorrow im going to have to stick some generic made in china shit on it until i can afford something decent (at least 2 years from now). also, just put my brand new windscreen in, was a bit tight with the brand new genuine toyota rubber but it went in eventually. was giving it a wipe and then fucking with one of the chrome clips, not touching the window at all and it cracked in half. sweet, so now i need another windscreen. fucked off much?? yes.
  2. if you get this car ready and bring it to the nats then you will defiantly receive an award for most amount of shit done in a short time frame!! you've got a bit to get through but i do hope you make it. will be sweet when its finished. keep on keeping on............... sheepers.
  3. the diff is out of my other car at the mo so i thought id have a play with wheels. it looks really good with these on it. pity they wont fit over the brakes, are the wrong stud pattern, they don't make them any more and even if they did i couldn't afford them. but apart from that they are sweet as. the wheels are 15 x 8's with a 12mm+ offset after a bit of measuring i think it would be very do-able to fit 10" wide rims on the back of the 28. has anyone seen or done this?? sheepers.
  4. ill be at hampton on the sunday. not cheep to get in though........
  5. the best thing about the Mercedes based burnout was how close the black line is to the parked car that was on the side of the road. mad skilzz
  6. quite looking forward to a burger. we got a few people coming tonight or is it just going to be me for a quiet corner table? sparky? me and you, candle flickering gently on the table, maybe some wine and.......who knows?? teabaging. im just putting it out there.
  7. aaaaaaaannnddddd, were back, better pics tomorrow but you get the idea. she's all back together and straight. sheepers
  8. well. the car is back to looking straight and true. its all painted and back together. ill get some pics tomorrow at the classic Jap meet. my diff is completely fucked, the center Carrier has about 10 degrees of play on the axles, no idea whats caused this but the only way to fix it is full re-build. I'm in debt up to my (eye)balls at the mo so don't ask me how the fuck I'm going to pay for this but it has to be done. and soon. so no new wheel shells or tints for me........ good to have the car straight and looking good though. will post some pics after Jap meet/Kumeu. sheepers.
  9. na man its not. as good as this paint is for just about everything else it wont stick to smooth surfaces. the steel has to be rough as fuck before it will stick. sheepers
  10. no reason it wouldn't stick to a correctly prepared surface your absolutely right, but a "correctly prepared surface" would require the inside of the pipe being heavily scored with the likes of 40 gritt sand paper or better. any parts you miss with the sand paper then paint with POR 15 will come off and make their way into the spencive bits called the engine. like i say, POR 15 wont stick to any smooth surface, it has to be fucking rough before it will stick. new steel = not even slightly rough enough.
  11. do not POR 15. it wont stick to smooth surfaces, like new steel pipe work. just leave the inside, it wont rust up to bad. and youll be taking them off again in a month or two so you can clean them up then. sheepers.
  12. really looking forward to this. hope the weather is good or at least average. its supposed to be pretty bleak for the BDO but good to better for the rest of the weekend. i should wear a name badge so people can yell at me in person. and you know who it is who is telling you to get of my lawn. sheepers.
  13. chrome lip with cap. i just remember how fucking cool it looked with those smoothies on it. keen to replicate on MS51 etc.. actually, those wheels look fucking yuck, you should give them to me.
  14. yep. do design, problem solving, prototyping, pilot production setup, supplier contract negotiations, supplier process streamlining, on site testing, customer tech questions, etc etc... i is a make stuff guy.
  15. I'm a constant fan of your work. i like the way you just tackle stuff, even if your not sure of what your doing or how it will pan out, but you get stuck in anyway. top work!! my mate has one of these that I'm about to start helping him with. i believe you bought some bumpers off him or something, his name is Rob. anywho, keep on with the development work. sheepers.
  16. wont be this month, but it will be one of the meets this year that i roll my 28 to.............
  17. fuck im about ready to delete this whole thread. way to welcome the new guy with a sweet car, by having a 7 year old's argument about who's opinion is more valuable than who's. its a fucking sweet car and what he chooses to do with it is all good, and up to him, not you. sheepers.
  18. yea, that car is very very cool. it would be great to see it at the classic jap meet, its on the 16th of Jan (last time i checked) there is a thread about it. anywho, good to see the car in good hands and please keep us up to date with its progress. cheers, sheepers.
  19. that is pretty sweet. and yes your rev counter is a tad wobbly its pretty hard to tell but i reckon its got some get up and go.
  20. anything is posable with an engine transplant really. have a bit of a look around and a measure up, get some ideas together of what types of engine you would like to use then talk to your local certifying engineer. he'll be able to tell you what will be required and what will be the option that fits your criteria best. but for fucks sake have a plan of what you want to end up with and stick to it or youll never drive the thing again!! its such a sweet car and i think its going to be a very cool car when your finished so keep going with it. it might help you to weigh your old engine so you have some idea what you can stick in it without having to many suspension/steering issues. keep up the good work dude! sheepers.
  21. i probably wouldn't do that. can you space the whole caliper back by 3mm and run a thinner pad on the outside/thin side? it won't take long to remove a couple of mills of the pad if you rub it on the concrete? its less than perfect but its probably a better compromise than removing metal from the caliper. especially that part of the caliper, its probably the part that does the most work on the whole thing. can you run 3mm spacers and space your wheel out? they can be done legally without to much hassle. just some ideas to think about.
