CKD's would be a different kettle of fish that page matches my own experience with NZ beetles, and there is other supporting evidence published online http://www.clubvw.org.au/austvw001 so is your '67 a 1500?

NZ and Aussie beetles ran on different model years to the rest of the world, we kept going with the older designs a lot longer than elsewhere... Pretty sure 68 was the cross over year, mine was also first registered in '68 but is pretty much exactly what a US '63 would be (useful info if you're ordering parts online) http://www.nzveedubnuts.com/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=6855

that's a nice looking set up... still planning on being road going?

the bushes themselves are easy to fit, but there will need to be a little supporting work to make sure a few other mating surfaces are parallel... should wind up with 2 degrees of negative camber, which I expect will make a world of difference compared to the current 1 degree positive... we'll find out for sure at the OS track day (touch wood)... (random pic of naked formula vee)

people say the solenoid can give trouble when putting 12v through a 6v starter, but it's never given me any grief in the years I've done it... tried putting it in 3rd and rocking the car back and forth? has free stuck solenoids for me in the past (btw 6v and 12v ring gears are different if you wind up shopping for a new starter)

I had a rumage through my box of spares tonight and have made a pile of parts that I reckon you should put on the car... free if you want to use them anyway... steering wheel with complete horn ring and a lot less cracks than the one in your car handbrake boot (think yours was missing) new hoodhandle and a replacement set of interor handles and winders if the 'custom' ones in yours aren't your cup of tea

still having transmission issues (cheers for the escort home from burgers Chris and Tara), new trans is on the way - will hopefully be here in time for OS trackday... in the meantime I have been talking to an old school formula vee racer/builder guy about how they made their cars handle, as they use the same front suspension that I have. And he has kindly sent me a set of camber bushes and hand written instructions on how to fit them These will take the front end from positive camber into negative camber...
