  1. Anyone able to assist? Bought a car with the bottom pictured spherical bearing ball joints. Are they legal for road use? Require cert or are they WOF compliant? Any issues with them? Are these much better than standard ones (as shown in top of pic connected to steering arm?
  2. I concur with Chris, it won't be gear ratio. Gotta be either carb or electrical. Fuel is easiest to sort so check it all out first. Something as simple as partially blocked carb jets or a lose earth connection can cause same symptoms. Don't know what sort of carbs those Chonda Chinese knock offs have but if its a knock off carb as well - throw it in the bin. The engine doesn't matter so much but the carb does, very very fine tolerances and decent manufacturing are a must for carbs. Ask anyone who has bought / tried to use a cheap knock off carb and you will never hear anything good to say about them.
  3. That's tidy! Do you plan on engine upgrade at some point?
  4. Jealous man, I agree with others that original paint colour are the best possible. Love this car.
  5. She is gone Now , about that Kawasaki...
  6. I second Fliboi. I have even done it for a moped with no proof of prior registration. PMed you Nick
  7. buy buy buy! http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=1056531225
  8. Cheers fellas. Noticeable increase in noise and acceleration with baffles removed. I have put them back in though because it's loud enough and would be deafening at 100. I went up 10 on main jet, did a few plug chops and it seems to have been perfect with smooth running. I did richen up the needle a notch and it did not run as well so put it back.
  9. Artyone how did I miss your post! Bike is now for sale but if it does not sell I would be pretty keen. Cheers Chunky_t! Baffles on Yammy RD and Suzi GT models are just a shaft (with some token wrap) shoved in the end of each muffler and held in with a screw; Bike now up for sale, its on the Tard but if an OS member interested, hook me a PM. I need my Kawasaki on the road, its been a project too long.
  10. Mean Maori mean. What colour are you gonna go?
  11. Thought I saw you fanging off on your ax nick. Heaps of cool bikes there, even more people. Didn't even know this thread existed until after the event. Took my green sparkly gt185 down from palmy, was pretty hard going full throttle most of the trip. Must have been even harder work for the smaller single welly contingent!
  12. Yep seen + keen as on a set but freight is a killer. My old lady going to UK next month, trying to convince her it's a good idea.
  13. soo, before Christmas I let my old man take it for a ride down the street and the rear wheel locked up completely. Luckily it was not the engine seizing but a bearing in the rear wheel, and it was a slow halt, not full lock up at full speed. I have procrastinated for ages before finally getting around to fixing the damn thing (over summer = dumb wasted opportunity to ride.) Said stupid bearing; What the shaft and spacer should look like are below. Due to the heat, the spacer on this dumb shaft thing has practically hot welded itself to the shaft, missing threaded shaft section much! Figured I may as well sort another few issues while I was there. When re-registering I was only just let through with swing arm bushes. I decided to have a look since rear wheel was off. Glad I did, bushes did not look like they had ever seen grease. New ones from Ebay Taiwan, $15. Then I always knew that exhaust didn't feel as strong pulse on right side but still ran like a champ. So procrastinating again I finally purchased a compression tester. I was suitably surprised to find between 100-105PSI for both sides. I then set about cleaning the exhausts, the right side was quite badly blocked. Despite outside appearances it would appear the internal factory baffles are quite shit as bits of metal fell from both exhaust pipes upon cleaning. Who makes expansion chambers again?

You are both right. The more I look at it the more it annoys me. It will be swapped to other side.

I dunno why but it stands out more in those pics. Probably due to colour difference but mount has always been there. It is like that because the holes lines up with existing holes in fender. When both black I doubt it will be noticeable but that is food for thought thanks chief

Semi forgot about that! Its not too uncomfortable with standard pegs to be honest. Easy fix if I'm not happy if it does not work out. Rear fender back in my possession.

This baby needs some lovin. My Uncle has just finished his BMW K100 Cafe (which is awesome) and he started well after me. A mate has recently finished my rear fender to accommodate the tail light and made the bracket for my speedo. Finish list getting smaller; Check rear fender fitment. Strip apart to bare frame. Frame: Make cut outs for coils (different for B frame to C frame) Weld on rear disc brake bracket (different for B frame to C frame) Weld on mounting tags for rear indicators Weld mount for ignition Make mount for speedo Weld up holes in modified triple tree Blast / paint frame, fenders, triple tree Modify /source alternative front fender (redrill mount holes as sections welded in to accommodate clearance for larger tyres) Parts: Front disc brake bolts x 4 New air filters (some of the old ones rubbers have separated from filter) Rear shocks? Shorter clutch cable / throttle cables smaller battery To get running: Wiring - new speedo (removal of super huge cluster), moving of ignition, LED indicators/tail light, check suitability of wiring for H4 headlight WOF
  18. Oh boy, all that frustrating effort, gotta laugh then enjoy riding it I guess!
  19. Pic of how it sat. CB200 was longer at rear but from memory fit the front mounts on frame well.
  20. Well tank should be very close to working. I test fit a cb200 tank on my cb100 and it fit pretty well. Cb /cg the same frame.
  21. Could be onto a winner there Zebra. I got put onto a fella named Matt to do some sound recording for the NZ remake of "Under the Mountain" Spent a few hours just driving the car in different ways, opening doors, putting on seatbelt noises etc. Used my B310 sunny even though a B210 was used in the movie. The sound of the car was my old car; I got between $200 - $400 from memory..
  22. Yep me and Kane be coming. Look for the fella on the sparkly green rowdy two stroke Suzuki gt185
