  1. It needs a test too. I'm in the wairarapa so not much local. There used to be a paintball place down the road but they seem to have disappeared. I use more co2 for beer than welding. Now I think about it, if I got a bunnings bottle (6kg) I could fill my 3.5kg bottle and about a dozen sodastream bottles that I use for the beer and then return the bunnings one and get my deposit back.
  2. Owner bottle might be more hassle than it's worth now, might get a bunnings one.
  3. Yeah that's a spendy bit of brass. I found a CO2 regulator with the right fitting, but then discovered my tank is empty Survitec in petone used to fill them but their phone number no longer connects.
  4. I've lost the female-female adapter to connect a regulator to my co2 cylinder. Anyone know where I can get one?
  5. Looks like maybe it's a weight for the vacuum operated secondary? In which case it probably shouldn't touch anything.
  6. Curiosity got the better of me and I ordered one with a 2.8" touch screen. $28 shipped from aliexpress. Also a micropython book from the library. I have a grain mill for flour, but each flour works differently from supermarket flour so I need more control over my bread maker. I also want to be able to do sourdough which needs a longer rise time.
  7. I haven't touched microcontrollers for a long while, but I've got some projects coming up. The first is a babelfish to go between my lithium battery and inverter so they can talk to each other. Luckily someone has written the code so it should be an easy one. He used an esp32, which on the face of it is kind of like arduino but cheaper and more powerful. Anyone got experience with these?
  8. Yeah why not. It will start. #1 is nearest the pulley, the order is 1324. The carbs will be some sort of hitachi. I've got manuals if you need more info.
  9. So now you're down to just three? Or did you find some more you haven't told us about?
  10. Did they hacksaw the front off the subie box and tig it onto a bit of plate?
  11. Just don't leave the car standing long enough to dry out the float bowls or it won't start again.
  12. Soft start might help? My 3600w inverter genny struggles with a concrete mixer. https://a.aliexpress.com/_mKc4WrM
  13. Is the interfacing not sewn into the cover? I don't know much about upholstery but I guess spotlight would be a good place to try.
  14. Para cut foam to order
  15. Cos pausing it when it gets to the letters and changing the filament is cheating.
  16. Turned out the inside pad was worn to the backing plate on that wheel so it looked OK through the rim and no squealing because the wire is on the outside pad. I don't know why, the caliper wasn't stuck, the rotor was ok. Maybe just a bad pad. Sorted now.
  17. I think I still have a steel plate with a slot cut in it that I used to press apart my crank if that's useful?
  18. My left front brake started making an awful grinding noise. There's heaps of meat on the pads so I guess there must be something stuck in there. Is there a hack for this, or am I going to have to pull the shoes off?
  19. It's a 71. I got as far as pressing the crank apart then life got in the way.
  20. Wanna get together on the crank rebuild? Might give me the inspiration required to get back onto my T500
  21. I've got a 24v element in a 300l hot water cylinder and I tried hooking up some pv panels directly in different configurations but I think i only managed to squeeze about 25-30% of the panel wattage into the element. A normal charge controller needs a battery to turn on, you can't put it directly into a load. I ended up using batteries and a voltage switch so it doesn't drain them. @h4nd's link doesn't work for me but something that works directly would be sweet. I think a regular dc-dc converter would work but haven't tried one.
  22. I'll come over, drink beer and offer uninformed advice if you like. I can cut some shims out of my empty cans.
  23. Is making a massive loop to the middle of nowhere not normal? All my roadtrips end up that way.
