Raizer replied to Raizer's topic in Lower North Island Region
Give me something to whack in the GPS and I'm sure we'll get there, managed to find @Unclejake's on purpose and @Steelies pad by accident so I'm getting around ha If only I could find where I parked the van now... -
Upon vigorous personal inspection I do believe it was placed by the saucer people under instruction of the Illuminati! Lush pad!

Could be keen to tag along if welcome, staying in the hutt and need a couple HiAce bits I doubt I'll find in Gisborne. /If we haven't started heading north already anyway. -

Arvo should be mint as for me Lost in Cortney place atm Edit: @k-trips k-k-keen? Later arvo/early evening would be mint, @Russ was keen too (my brother) But I'm flexible as really, want to check out town etc in the morning, drop @Unclejake's Bond villan chair at some point and yeah nothing else planned as such. Should procure a couple little bits for the van at a pick a part at some point, but that's not a biggie. -

I believe the Dio has a 14mm output shaft, no idea on the clutch but it should be pretty standard.

So it's a DOHC then? Ratshit! Run the NA cam for more power in the turb engine? /Does that rule of thumb apply to diesels?

Yeah that's the one, have made a booking at Champers in Lower Hut(?), was a $60 discount on booking.com. Have a couple days to cancel it if I find a better deal, but it's not that much more than some small rooms with both beds in the one room and it's main bed is in a private bedroom upstairs from the lounge/kitchenette/single bed. At this point I'm not sure what time we'll be getting down to Wellington, bus gets to Palmy at about 4:15, we're going to bum the bustling metropolis that is Palmy around until @Dolanknocks off work and I'm hoping to check out Alice the tractor and maybe spin a sharn or 3 before leaving haha. Saturday we have nothing planned besides Sandy wants to check out Wellington a bit, so if anyone is floating around central(?) city come save me from dress shopping... Also I'll no doubt be lost as fuck in the big city! Semi impromptu Wholly pizza meat or something Saturday? @Russ lives pretty much next door so I'm sure I'll be able to find the place haha! -

Van is mine, bus tickets brought, just sorting accommodation now and then I can start trying to figure out a plan of action Looking like a lower hutt motor lodge is going to be the go. -
That sounds fine to me, my pulley was likely worse to start with. My Suzuki wouldn't even move with stock carb, big spanny and foam filter, just major bogging! Aliexpress is the go for the jets, order more of a range than you need as it sucks to be 2 sizes too lean without anything bigger on hand! /What thread jets does your carb take? I've got a large range of umm I'd like to say 6mm thread jets somewhere, might be of use to you once you get the pipe on.
-
Pulley surfaces will be fine, knock the worst down with some 180g maybe, belt will smooth out the rest pretty quick! Hard belt is likely to slip though, or shred once you get on pipe* If you running it as it is in the pics the bogging will be because it's lean as fuck, whack the airbox on and give it another go. *speaking of pipe, I hope you have a decent assortment of jets at the ready for tuning.

Pending the big thumbs up from @Dolan I may be heading down to Palmy to pick up a van on Friday 27th and figure I might as well take it on a bit of a weekend roady down to Welly, might end up staying a couple nights and heading home Sunday arvo depending on how hard a motel rapes my wallet. At this point in time I've got no real plans other than catching up with my little brother @Russ and my Mrs and son both want to have a look around since neither of them have been further south than Hawkes Bay. And yeah I wouldn't mind meating a few of you cunts irl for a drink/sharn/raffle off @k-trips Kommodore etc -
There's one on trademe, 1994 with a 2.4 petrol, 127k but $9g!
-
Got chatting with an old Barry mechanic this morning about the Delica. "Will be cracked rings on number 2 letting oil up, used to see it in Galants all the time. Put some new plugs in it, keep it on the low level on the dip stick and load the bitch up with Morays" I changed back to my locked up distributor earlier, has actually made a very noticeable improvement, if you ignore all the pinking that dizzy brings.
-
Yeah I'm a bit hesitant about that too, I like diesels, I don't like paying RUCs and extra rego. 2.4 petrol doesn't seem common/existent in super custom trim though.
-
Didn't seem to raise it much, only did the first 2 cylinders as I'd already refitted the intake etc. http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/used-cars/toyota/auction-1243777243.htm Is what I've been looking at, seems to have gone down another $500 tonight.
