  1. Have you talked to the tyre shops? Pretty sure Toyo do a 225 50 14 If located i Welly go see the guy at CPA as he runs something around that size in 14s on his Corolla. Gaz
  2. Get a pinto in ya! 4th run was amusing, wish I had the video out, alot more smoke than anything else, I think the marshalls were happy they got to see some burn outs. Gaz
  3. Can see this ending in use of that large red thing you have by garage door lol
  4. Wonder if they make them with a hole in the middle as that would rule for cold air box use, or maybe not. GAR
  5. Looks good. Question, does the filter have a hole in the end of it or suck from the sides? Gaz
  6. What went wrong exactly? I can see dremal making holes messy pretty easy. Last week I did one 85mm hole in front of Chevette with hole saw and wood technique and it worked sweet as once the saw bit. Maybe you need to mount wood on each side and then screw them together to clamp the valence? Gaz
  7. I can get the old man to send down some 90-100mm chassis cutter thingies if you want? Depending on how thick the valence is will depend on how well they work... too thin and it warps the steel a bit. Gaz
  8. You are a wanker. Like your bike, Eds looks like a future hog. Gaz
  9. I have had about 5 guns now and really rate the current one for a DIY gun of decent quality. It is a Wellmade gravity Fed gun(decent brand) gun valued at just over 200 retail. Get a 1.4 tip gun and itll basically spray everything you want with some playing. If buying two guns then a 2.0 tip would be good for filler/primer and epoxies/thick stuff. Ive never sprayed with any pro guns so cant really comment there however I was told not to buy second hand guns. Gaz
  10. Interestingly some of the decent direct drive single phase units are higher than 300l/m, perhaps they are more effeciant than the belt driven units with the same size motor. Again though they do not pop up too often. This was a nice comp for a really good price IMO http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing ... =514817049, running an Ingsol Rand motor so cant really go wrong there and 342l/m. That would have run ya spray gun all day. A good way to increase volume without increasing tank size is to plumb ya whole garage up with approx 2-3inch steel fixed line, galv pipe is often used. This gives you the advantage of multiple tap of points aswell as increasing volume. Gaz
  11. Cant member exaclty but its approx 300 litres per minute free air delivery to keep up and say 400 to keep up + fill the resivour so that the poor thing doesn't overheat. Thats with ya general HVLP gun. Gaz
  12. Can paint with almost any compressor with good results will just need to adjust method slightly. Ive painted cars with the good old 2.5hp 40l direct drive $150 bunnings type compressor many times using a HVLP gun. They run about 30-40psi in and then 10psi at the tip so not huge pressures at all, they do use a bit of volume though, 10cfm would be fine and as Cam said before even 8 will work but prob not ideal for larger panels. Gaz
  13. Wouldn't you be better off to run ITBs. Whats the point of going to carbs, to make wiring easy? so you can tune it yourself? Gaz
  14. spray gun, rattle gun, die grinder, air gun.. the normal shit. Gaz
  15. It will do that, let compressor run a bit longer and itll shut. Run either at compressor or in line on wall. Gaz
  16. McGuiness are still going just have moved to Kapiti. I have used them before for the Cortina. They do know classics and usually deal in the more standard/restored type of vehicle, this means they may not necessarily put the right value on the car depending on what it is. I was reasonably happy with the Cortina valuation, came in at 8k in writting. Any registered LMVD dealer can supply a valuation for you as long as they are happy to do so... AMI advised me this but dont see why it would be any differant to other insurance companies. So yeah find a friendly dealer and go from there. Gaz

    FE3 vs Zetec?

^^^ What he said. Manta or 2l 4cyl Holden box. If this is for an escort flick Chris low'n'slow a PM as he runs an Fe3 in his escort, youve prob seen his build thread? He can tell ya what Fe3 combo to go with for best outcome re heads, block, cams, gboxes. Gaz Gaz
  18. ^^^ tis the problem I have by the looks. Have talked to Gavin & cant really get the outcome I want. Back to steelies. Gaz
  19. Its illegal to swap plates from one car to another so if you do it it aint going to matter a damn if your car has tags etc or not. Boerad beat me to it. As he said you need to prove its been on the road before. Running the plate number from the etchings on the windscreen through LTSA/VTNZ system will do it. Then go through revin check. Gaz
  20. Oh cheers bro those pics help. I might have to take a fe mm off then Gaz
  21. Just re-measured itd be 8.5's. 3inch of dish, would really like 4". Brad, if your reading how far out did your old cookie cutters sit on the shvit? Gaz
