  1. Sweet, can never have too many wheels!
  2. Yeah I could help out, i'm 5 minutes from prebbleton. PM me some more details
  3. Shit Tarran, looks so sick on those wheels. Which car you going to use the Volk wheels on?
  4. You sure about that? They look to be normal Dunlop Direzza DZ101s in your photos. They're just a regular directional tyre, not a semi slick, perfectly suitable for everyday road use.
  5. Agree with above, why did you change the wheels? Volk wheels looked good
  6. My workmate Steve originally carried out the 20Valve conversion on this car, back in 2004 or 2005, after another workmate had blown the original Bluetop 4AGE. He was a bit sad when I showed him your photos, looks like it has seen plenty of abuse since then.
  7. What kind of cover? Like a hard fibreglass one? Or just a standard soft Tonneau cover? I had a Tonneau cover made up for my old Hilux, would be a similar size to a datsun. Just done at the local auto upholstery place, was $300 from memory.
  8. Plan to attend this for sure, & will try encourage a few more toyota guys along.
  9. I was looking for some 2nd hand recently, dude at Roadrubber Tyres in CHCH had some, but wanted $100 each. So thought I was better off buying new. Also Ascot Auto in CHCH had a pair, think he said $80 each, but they were shitty old Hankooks or something, ask for Dean if you call.
  10. Will swap you 2 14x6.5 for your 2 14x7, might make things easier
  11. The round plug in the bottom left of your photo should be the correct one, wiring colours may differ between NZ New & Jap Import, probably explains why they are different to what you were told on Club-K. Have you located the cooling fan relay in the drivers kick panel? With the key in the on Position remove the relay & you can check for voltage on the relay board, as long as your fuse is ok you should have voltage here. With a short piece of wire you could also bypass the relay & prove the circuit to the fan. Relay itself has a diagram on the side indicating which pins you will need to loop.
  12. Yeah a bit flatter looking than the 7's. Searched for over 2 years to complete that set before I gave up & sold them
  13. I originally sold those 3 wheels to Walker.NZ. Got another set of 4, 14x6.5 +4 so you could run a staggered setup. Prob not looking to sell outright, but would be keen to swap for other sets or pairs of 14x6.5 - 14x8
  14. take the plug off the thermo switch, with the key in on position this should cause the fan to run all the time. If that doesn't work then disconnect the fan & check voltage at the plug end to prove it's not a case of a faulty fan motor. Relay is up under dash on Right side, when you take the plug off the thermo switch you should be able to hear the relay clicking on & off
  15. What year & what motor originally in your one? Should have a diagram here to suit. This is up to 1981, but don't think the later models have too many differences
  16. Posting on behalf of my Bro, New track wheels arrived from Japan the other day 13x7, +1 offset Volk Mesh. Using 13's allows us to use 2nd hand TRS Slicks for certain club events May chuck on some crappy road tyres for a test fit/photos shortly/Should really finish wiring this thing & do some skids
  17. Nah that list is from the AA and based only on the vehicles they insure, they won't insure many of the high risk vehicles (eg. silvias, skylines, wrx etc) so the list is irrelevant really.
  18. Should work fine, as long as your thermo switch & relay are in good working order, these are easy to test and/or replace if needed
  19. Just been going through this with my brothers latest Starlet. They run a electric fan set up from factory, there are two senders on the top water outlet at the motor, one up on top is for the fan, and one down low is the sender for the temp gauge. 20A fuse labelled 'engine, fan motor' & Cooling fan relay are located just under dash on R/H side If all your factory wiring is still intact you will find the fan has a male white 2 pin round plug, the female end of it comes out of the body loom just behind the Left Headlight/below the radiator overflow bottle. Unfortunately if your starlet is like most of the starlets around & has been worked on by useless muppets, most of this info is probably no good to you. Fan on bro's starlet for example was hooked up with speaker wire to the battery & a toggle switch
  20. What kind of car? Will probably be the indicator switch assembly or the flasher unit that is dead. Both are easy to replace, not sure why you would muck around gaying up your dash by fitting extra switches, just fix the problem right & be done with it.
  21. Glad you're happy with the rain guards, thought the car looked familiar when you picked them up the other night.
  22. Paid $60 for it years ago, so would like to get that back. It's in real good nick
  23. Got a honeycomb GT grill for one of these hanging in the garage. Let me know if you're after one
  24. Yes they are a direct bolt in fit
