  1. Nearly at picton. The final (and lamest) leg of my journey is about to begin.
  2. I made it to the ferry. Just about to go mighty night in my cabin. But before I do, i wanted to say a huge thank you to everyone who was a part of this magnificent event. Extra special thanks must go to John and Amy for opening up their home to a bunch of weirdos off the internet. Mark @Thphantum for feeding me better than I eat at home, and feeding me generous lashings of bourbon at gizzy. And Ben for driving me 1100+kms in his van so I could be a part of it. A+ would trade again!
  3. My Helmet dilemma has been solved. Thanks to everyone who offered to help.
  4. FUCK FUCK FUCK I forgot my helmet!!! Anyone got a spare they can bring? Or any shops en route where I can buy a new FFM? (They're only like $100 back home)
  5. I leave in just over 24hrs. I still need to do a wheel bearing on my trailer yet.
  6. Assuming 2degrees has reception at the J-5 ranch, can someone put this on my phone the night before/before we leave please? I'm sure to get lost, and am a cabbage with technology
  7. Lucky I'm not rooming with Clint. Oh, wait....... Lolololol
  8. I was yarning to a fella I.met at the first pub stop yesterday. Hed spent time up where were going. And knew the area. He asked me to show him my bike. As we were walking to it he said, any bike that can tackle the Motu must be a beast. Ha! Behold my twist and go of destiny on road tyres!
  9. I think I can make that. Last year I did Te Araroa to Opotiki on one whole tank, plus my 2ltr fuel can. Might have saved a bit of gas drafting behind @Geophy though. Perhaps slam a 20ltr in a back up vehicle as extra insuarance? I know some guys bikes have fuel tanks like a pregnant woman's bladder........
  10. Is that the one at Matawai, or the other one at the beginning (heading back toward Opotiki) That lady at Matawai didnt have enough meat thawed for the toasties. Luckily @Thphantum (aka Gordan Ramsey) cranked up the BBQ while the trailer was repaired using a chainsaw and a couple.of tiedowns.
  11. Hey J-5, Is someone going to tell the tiniroto pub that 30+ thirsty, dusty misfits will be stopping by for an ale? Maybe thaw a few extra maggot packs/etc. Such folk are always pleased to get a bit of warning. One time the NZDatsun crowd cleaned out every last bourbon RTD at a pub stop. (The publican pleaded with me to tell her we were coming next time)
  12. You wont see any gravel heroics from me. Twist n go on road tyres a dirt bike is not.
  13. Yes but with the extra heat wicked out of the charge, there will be greater density. So more power will be extracted from the same volume* of air/fuel for any given tune. *greater density for that volume/more atoms.
  14. I actually thought it was you who'd ate the road when it was GN125 vs road post impact. I didn't know youd backed off.
  15. Also the air filter is filthy as fuck too. The pre filter side of the housing is full of dust from that section between Matawai and the Rere falls.
  16. I just did my best to burn out my pipe. It didn't smoke like the one in the YouTube video. But I think I did give myself lung cancer. Started thinking about what I need to bring. The brand new plug i bought to carry as a spare is still in the bag from the shop it came from. And while I was bolting my pipe back up, i realised I've not so much as taken the spark plug out since last years ride. #twostrokereliability Also looks like the plastic I broke when i dropped it on an Easties ride is only one bit. Might raid my two project scooters after work tomorrow. Still need to rewire my trailer plug, and do a wheel bearing on my trailer before I leave at noon on Wednesday. Ah, and I noticed today its six weeks out of rego too.
  17. I'm also in talks with a group of wounders to arrange a small bike pest.
  18. Correct. This year I am the sole representative/ambassador for Te Wai Ponamu. I'll do my best to be as wild as five qcr. But in addition to my existing sharn portfolio, it's a tall order.
  19. I did a quick google, and that motorbike page said 170cc per minute per 300hp. Based on your ET's, (plus the inevitable wick turning up in future) youd be looking at around the 500hp mark. So.thats 283cc per minute. A three litre tank would give you ten minutes of WOT. And looking at their.website, cooling mist do a.pump rated to 300psi. That motorbike page hates on the shurflo/flojet pumps.
  20. My guess is mitsi too. Looks not unlike the carb on a 79 lancer.
  21. I did a lot of research into it a while back. Came across some website of a salt.flat bike racing team. Their.kits were very expensive. But my other research revealed that the "coolingmist" brand stuff was the pic of the affordable stuff. There was a guy at datsun 1200.com running a datsun 1000 wagon with an A15 running 30 psi or boost. He ran two hobbs switches. The pump started up at 5psi boost, then a second switch opened the injection nozzle solenoid at 12psi. Theres quite an array of different irrigation type nozzles. (More misty, more surface area - more heat absorbed from the charge) but they require decent pressure to work. Pretty sure those cooling mist pumps run around the same pressure as an efi pump. But they're able to be dead headed, and they seals are able to cope with the rigours of methanol too.* *at least I think it was cooling mist ones that are the ones I'm thinking of
  22. Fuck those sharns were wounding! Did you know that the Maori people didn't migrate here? Their canoes weren't that sea worthy. They were bought here by the chinese, who kept them as slaves. And other shit sharns.
