  6. I use long nose vise grips for that. This particular Vehicle will require a motor out job any time I blow a gearbox or clutch. So I'd like it to be easy to pull apart too.
  7. Factpry stuff is built to a price. I was hoping that someo e whi tuens spanners for a living would chime in.
  8. Looking at hose clamps for my radiator hoses. What is the OS hive minds opinion of T bolt clamps, versus standard style screw driver hose clamps? I guess anything is better than the wire hose clips used by the factory. What does everyone reckon?
  9. A pair of Eaton M45 mounted one over each bank would be dreamy......
  10. Somehow I've never read this thread until today? Wow, its quite the build! A sick old school lead sled that wont drive like an actual sled.
  11. Nah. It was only like $20. I have another motor which will work. I just cant find it is all.
  12. I bought a cap for a drill press i bought off @Metalhead96. 5he motor would start with push but that was it. The cap didnt fix it. I think it's still in the garage. If it is you can have it for free.
  13. I've found a mate I can scrounge what I need off. /problem solved.
  14. Has anyone bought steel off that metal by mail place? Advertises on farcebook. $10 shipping nationwide rings alarmbells/makes me think it might be a con?
  15. We're going to need that danger zone time expressed on a visual chart of some kind too.
  16. Once you get your "life back in order" (then tell me how its done) can you log the number of 9k pulls this engine does? When this one goes Bang! You'll have an idea how long one lasts. But once your shit is sorted, time for Round two of crowd funding. I'd say sub one month to raise enough coin for a third engine, and a set of forgies. Then you can build it up while waiting for this engine to scatter its gizzards all over the road. This thread is better value than Netflix.
  17. Possibly a derp question, But are you 100% certain your 1960s guage is reading correctly? I've had issues in the past with ancient factory guages. Is the sender a proper match to the guage as well?
  18. You're just a bit slower is all. The small wheels are a bit punishing on gravel. I was usually the last one in any time we stopped. But I did this ride both ways on Ronnie the Honda Dio. If it's a choice between a twist and go, or not going, just do it!!
