  1. Thats the best news ever! None of my fleet of vehicles meet the criteria to need a cat fitted. I was all worried about that, but now I'm all beaming and high fiving all round!
  2. Thanks for the heads up kind sir! That would have been a fuck up.
  3. I'm going to throw down a suggestion for this meet up! How does everyone feel about this sunday coming, (june 5th) at the redwood hotel at 3pm? The pub has a nice big carpark, and it's a pub with pool tables etc. How does that sound to you guys? K33n or nah?
  4. Be aware, that if you have twelve months rego purchased on A register, then you go to reclassify it to the G register, you'll have to pay the difference. (and if you're a broken arse like me, that will break the bank big time!)
  5. Yeah but those old-school guys are! lol Maybe Leppa and I can do the OS meet after the datsun meet. lol Hey leppa, I have an old BBQ that can live at your lock up if you like. It's just sitting around my back yard atm. You'll need your own bottle though.
  6. Meeting place: Mount Pleasant Yacht Club car park, Main Road Ferrymead. Time: 10:30am. Itinerary: After meet and greet, we'll be heading down Main Road, and over evans pass. We usually stop just over the top of evans pass for a park up and pictures overlooking Lyttleton Harbour. Then we'll cruise around the bays to The wheasheaf tavern in Teddington for a refreshments break. Following this, those who wish to can preceed up Gebbies Pass and onto Summit road to the sign of the kiwi. The weather is usually miserable and cold for this cruise. But last year the tavern was quite cosy. I know I thouroughly enjoyed it! This get together is more about a social get together with freinds, than an out and out datsun cruise. See you there! PS, I phoned the Wheatsheaf Tavern, and they are intact after the recent earthquakes.
  7. Shit. I just remembered that next sunday is a Datsun mini cruise. (sunday is winning in the polls atm)
  8. Do you reckon it'll matter if I use one with the powerball? ( Built in rince aid) They get my dishes super clean. lol
  9. 50mm if opaque, 100mm if it's transperant.
  10. I've seen the answer to all your problems Zac. Today I saw a mini project with a honda city turbo engine in it. That would be HEAPS lighter than the other engine you have in mind for down the track, and would still lay waste to a mini engine.
  11. I like the idea of a BBQ at leppa's lock up. Or a pub. Anywhere to do skids at or near your lockup leppa? (just asking, I wouldn't want a repeat of the last place you lived) I say sunday Arvo. I'm working too many hours atm to wanna trek out in the dark after work. we can have the mad discussions about who and or how things should be happening.
  12. Who knows? From what I heard, there were a few tracks that had expressed dissatifaction with some of their dealings with the NZDRA. All I want is the sport to be affordable. And for the sanctioning body (Whoever that is) to treat the clubs who run the events for us (The racers) in a fair and decent manor. I can see the NZDRA's predicament with their national series. The comp cars get people through the gate, but the street cars keep the sport going. Grassroots is where it's at for me. I can't speak for other tracks, but street cars make up most of the racers. Perhaps with a new sanctioning body, and some new ideas more people may be encouraged to take up the sport. CHCH is full of bogans. Every man and his dog has a car, or is building one. Yet some street meets have seen a lacklusture turnout. A change is as good as a holiday.
  13. I think its an endfloat issue. On overrun the thrust goes the other way to on power. Without looking at a picture of a gear box, (The inside of it!) I couldn't say whether or not it's worn syncho's that are causing it. You might be able to tighten up the detaunts to help hold it in gear better, but that;l make it harder to select 3rd and 4th. (And it might not fix it anyway)
  14. BBQ's are all good. So are pubs. man I wish my local hadn't been annihilated in the fucking earthquake. Could be a bit chilly for BBQs this time of year.
  15. Is it worth sticking with the 1st friday meet?
  16. Some of the regular guys on here already have a regular thursday drinking engagement.
  17. This has been a long time coming. I attended a few pbdrc meeting over a season or so. (And narrowly escaped becoming a committee member myself) I have to say the stories I heard about how the NZDRA were treating the tracks, were dissapointing. I did read part of the thread at the NZV8 forums about this impending change. Seemed like the people who liked the NZDRA were completely oblivious to how everyone else felt they were being treated. The thing that ground my gears was that at the last NZDRA national event held at ruapuna, the entry fees were jacked up so much I literally couldn't afford to race. (It was $100!) This year, since the NZDRA gave that meeting to the NBDRC, pegasus bay held their own "BIG" meet. The fees were no different to any other meeting, the track was prepped beautifully by Trev, and I equaled my PB. The whole thing meeting was fantastic. I know for sure that at least one other regular racer couldn't race at that national meeting due to the cost too. That kind of thing is counterproductive to the sport.
  18. Sudden pressure drop like that can fuck Aluminuim radiators. They dont have the spine that copper ones do.
  19. hahaha! Actually, my neighbours are pretty sweet. It would take quite a bit for them to think that.
  20. I did flush the block via the heater hoses with the garden hose on full. I am leaning toward trying the shit in a bottle. Driving to work today, the heater was better. But not as sweet as it was when I first had the two cores cleaned out. I bought the engine off a bogan from rangiora, and used antifreeze and shit. The shite must have come from inside the engine me thinks.
  21. My car doesn't overheat, it's just the coolant is a really crappy colour, and my heater isn't as warm as I'd like.
  22. With the t/stat out, it wont be able to reach temprature. Also is that soda shit safe for aluminium radiators?
  23. Can anyone confirm if any of the cooling sytem flush stuff actually works or not? My A31 shitfiro has a really crap filld cooling system. A while back i had the radiator cleaned out, and new tanks fitted. As well as taking out the whole dashboard, and pulling the heater apart to fit a reconditioned heater core too. (That was a fucking cunt of a job!) Anyway fast forward a couple of years, and my once epic heater is now shit again. It's begining to get cold here, so I need it to be epic again. I pulled the hoses off and ran the garden hose through the core both ways a few times, and through the block via the heater hoses both ways a couple times too. Now the heater is a bit less shit. But I want it to be meke as. So whats the best shit to use to clean the shit out?
