Satin's and Mattes actually show discrepancies fairly well too, the difference in prep between would be minimal on a nice job with any finish. Satin White looks epic as, seen a photo of a Ferrari in satin white. Ruled.

Satin is exactly that dude. It's matte with a slight sheen to it. Or a gloss with the shine removed Either or, you're after Satin. Has a finished look similar to satin/silk fabric basically.
