  2. Yea I have no idea what uses the ball end :S My 1300 cable worked fine on my weber, only problem was where to mount the bracket so that the socket would line up

    A pre-cross flow has both the intake manifold and the exhaust manifold coming out of the same side of the head. A cross flow has the intake ports on one side and the exhaust ones on the opposite side, so they are quite easy to tell apart. I'd also look at the option of putting a 2L pinto in, they are the sohc 2l that come in lots of cortinas and the higher spec escorts, it would be a bit more work to put in but probably worth it,. But if you want a simple swap then yes a 1600 cross flow will be piece of cake, and 711M is the number cast onto the side of the 1600 block's I think.

    Well no shit, It's THAT hard that I could swear somebody has welded a forcefield around my reverse, It can go in, but its gear stick snapping stuff I tell you so I'm not all that keen on doing it. Any other ideas???

    Cause it's not just "not going into gear", it physically isn't able to be moved into the position. Grrr need it to stop raining so I can have a look, so puzzling dammit.

    I have a mint g/box, semi worn clutch, awesome engine. Yesterday: Car works 100% fine. Today: it's like reverse is seized, no amount of clutch or revs would get it into gear, in then end I used brute strenght and it went into place and then worked fine, no funny noises or what have you. Then I'm done with my reversing and go to select first but I'll be dammed it doesn't want to come out of reverse, so I force it out and away I go, all the other gears are fine and can be selected normally, there were no weird noises or anything leading up to this, just literally happened overnight. Could my gearbox have fucked itself overnight? or is it likely to be something like a worn clutch? It's raining so I can't go have a fiddle at this point in time.

  16. 2l zetec??? I reckon dohc engines in a rearwheel drive layout finish off an enginebay really nicely, specially if you have shiney cam gears nd no cambelt cover

  18. If the car was originally an auto, it will fit as the autos have a bigger trans tunnel, if it was a manual, then you will need to cut the trans tunnel a bit bigger, look around in past threads, this has been covered about a 100 times now
