  1. They look great Sparkle. Only suggest would be some nice brooks saddles.
  2. Solidworks Holes remind me of Uncle Jake
  3. Welcome along, I agree put up your own thread. Its as oldschool as lots of cars on here Reckon you should keep the current wheels, theyre perfect for it.
  4. Havn't needed them for years but Swift Automotive in Christchurch used to be good.
  5. what are you bringing btw paul? Only thing I own at the moment is my 106 GTi. Been looking for a second car for awhile but my tastes are rather obscure and noones selling
  6. 21 isnt hot. Though I've now lived in Wellington for almost 4 years and in that time I recall it being hot once.
  7. Dont have any expectation of needing to do this anytime soon but thats a really useful write up Brad. Thanks.
  8. About 4 years ago I got a set of wheels done at Canterbury Powder Coaters. DO NOT go there.
  9. I got 195/45/15s for $125 each fitted. Looks good in the above photo. Agree on red roof please.
  10. Well gone sorry (to Red16V for his spare BX GTi)
  11. Whats the point of having semi's if your not going to make use of them, just get regular tyres like everyone else is saying.
  12. Thats what I had on mine too and I'd recommend it. Standard 1275GT 12" wheels slowed it down more than a lack of power after that.
  13. Oh HAHAHAHAHAAAAAAAAA was that you!!!. Did you make it that noisy or is there an exhaust leak? Bought it like that. Thats the way reverse cone mufflers are supposed to sound. I have a new set of mufflers in my garage Ill fit this weekend.
  14. Wasnt in a car. The particularly loud Triumph. I was beside you the pedestrian lights past New World
  15. Ah so it was you I passed going around the bays this morning. I wasnt sure.
  16. I am still lurking just not posting much these days, so I thought Id update what Im driving. I temporarily had a Peugeot 106 XSi which has now been sold as I finally after six months of searching found a 1997 Peugeot 106 GTi With my former XSi 16 valve ness Ive never had a thread about it so here is the Ducati Ive had for the past couple of years This is now for sale as Ive just bought a 2006 Triumph Thruxton
  17. Mayo under the rocker cover could just indicate lots of short running. Im guessing youve already given up on the idea of twin carbs but the myths about them going out of tune are largely exaggerated, Ive owned several cars with them and never had any issues provided they were set up correctly in the first place.
  18. No experience with that particular one but I was always impressed with my stock EG radiator, it always cooled really well considering it was tiny. Had friends who used stock radiators on couple of hundred kw turbo motors though by that sort of stage they were considering upgrading.

    18RG stuff

From what I can remember from my former flatmates 18RG conversion: 1. Depends on the engine. The early ones had mechanical pumps the later ones were electric. Although the electric ones have a blanking plate if you pull that youll see theres nothing in there to turn it as the cam dont have a lobe on it. Easy to run electric. 3. I did have photos on my old computer but not on this one, I may have some on my harddrive so Ill check later if I remember and noone else can help. Not sure on the rest.
  20. I should be at the airshow one of the days. Will likely be rolling a Mazda 3 though
  21. My car is far from oldschool now but I could be keen this weekend.
