is it a genuine Targa Florio, they had mag wheels that would be extinct even here in Australia i think. there used to be a guy that wrecked them in Melbourne about 20yrs ago(My Dad had a P76 V8 in his Mk1 Transit van, used to buy parts from him) -

about 20yrs ago i sold a set of 5 falcon wheels with tyres and a falcon LPG tank, and it all fit in the boot of the P76 the guy picked it up in, seeing 6(including p76 spare) full size wheels across the back was impressive enough, but the gas tank in normal position was the icing on the cake. -
Random slightly cool stuff you built but not worth its own thread, thread

i made one out of hard wood for my "ute crane"(just sat the crane in the ute for extra height) lifting the garage roof trusses into place. 50kg was ok, wouldn't risk much more -
I've been watching Motive Video tuning theirs since new. been interesting to see the development stages. Roman might need to give them some tuning advice
-
just read your awesome update, and watched the video, made me smile also. i had that same issue with a horrible racket, i thought something very bad happened. also turned out a missing lower alternator bolt on My gemini. took a video of it(queued up to the spot HERE )

those electric fans on the front of the radiator in the LS400 i had(1991) were only for when the air con was on, used the clutch fan as a cooling fan. so if using them for cooling also you'll likely need to add a separate circuit to them unless your later model did it differently.

is the torque graph something to consider also? or does it overlay similarly enough
-
wonder if it's bump steer due to being lowered, has it been aligned since fitting at this height?
-
at this point you'd have to consider sticking the seats back in for a run just to say "it runs a 13 in street trim" other than the slicks. (assuming it can) looking forward to hearing what an exhaust can do.. even if it just sounds better with dorts front and rear

I am always amazed at how well the posts in pretty much every thread on this forum can perfectly describe and tell the events so clearly. I was saddened when I first read this, I thought the echo was being rehomed lol.. as I read further I chortled to myself and was well chuffed to see someone getting to experience some glorious dorts

FirstMate’s (old man’s) 1973 XA Falcon ute discussion thread
deankdx replied to FirstMate's topic in Project Discussion
awesome! I really enjoy seeing these go from sitting to driving again(crosses fingers) hopefully fuel tank isn't rusted or full of gunk .. same for the brakes etc and anything rubber being rotten. -
yeah with a carby, even if he had explained what he'd done it would have been like another language.
-
i hope you can make the exhaust sound as good as the intake. how much do you think it will change power, and if it will lose any lower in the revs and then.. will the change affect other tuned parts (aka, will the trumpet length be better longer or shorter or cam timing/ignition advance need changes? ) when i had an XF falcon 4.1Lwith some mild mods(cam, compression, extractors), going from 2.25" to 2.5" made it doughy lower in the revs, this was tuned back, but i don't know what the tuner had done(15yrs ago before i knew anything)
-
this thread is also.. how to prove durability of a 4AGE with lots of dyno runs looking forward to the results as always
-
did you happen to measure the chamber volume before the work there? (or will you measure the other head if same and compare?) would be interesting to see how much compression ratio has changed, assuming not much.
-
future test, for space challenged cars a banana runner (like the difference fitting side draught to down draught for space confines. or hole in the bonnet look) what about the screwdriver style but 45 degree drilled holes aimed at the centre of the port. anyone tested the golf ball effect on runners? been ported heads having positive and negative effects. not sure you could print in bumps or holes on the inner surface smoothly? just some brain farts for consideration.
-
getting chopped by a standard exhaust, stock looking echo is likely a lot more painful than if it's idling like a beast and blast an exhaust tune that the gods can hear though
-
I'm just happy to read you are even thinking about improving it. is there any benefit to hooking a dual runner intake for more low end grunt, seeing rods might be on the limit with more revs
-
i will go for the long straight blue ones first, then the weird blue ones, then green because.. different also. i was talking to a Cylinder Head reco dude(age 65 he was at the time) about match porting to the manifold. and he said some instances a poor match where particularly the exhaust port being smaller than the pipe/flange (aka bigger pipe than the port) helps with preventing a reversion effect(expanding gas though) would any of this translate on intake runners?(stepped runners smaller diameter than the port)

what a weapon! awesome reading the story too!

Alex's budget off road tool box build- wheelybox 2000 finished!
deankdx replied to yoeddynz's topic in Other Projects
that's wheely good! have you got a pic of how you made that "lift up section" spray can lid is a nice touch to keep the dust and spiders out also -
not so much a specific project, but a good video channel on metal forming by a coachbuilder in Melbourne Australia first video is how he's making front and sides of an E type Jaguar bonnet second video is a few other ways of shaping metal, using a wooden buck for the BMW custom rear 1/4 panel(inbuilt huge flares) later in the video some welded sections and forms. his channel has many other examples

I'm still impressed it's doing 8200rpm.. could you hot up a prius and have a super rocket with the added electric power? good pick up on the oil level, i remember a mate having similar issues and i think Engine Masters covered it also

i checked my youtube subscriptions.. no new video yet
