    Just musing here,

    Last year it was suggested next year we ride it In reverse.  How does everyone feel about that?  I feel the anticlockwise route was a good one. Day one mellow as fuck,

    Day two impossibly hard,

    Day three a fun level of riding.

    What are your thoughts,

    @Chris.QCR

    @Truenotch

    @Chunky_t

    Since I have the smaller front sprocket to throw on, I reckon the bike will be sweet on the super steep uphill stuff. I reckon yes!

  2. It is with great sadness that I am withdrawing from this event for 2021 due to having impregnated my partner at a very unfortunate time in my life. A time which coincides with this event being a little to close to Sarah's due date. I would postpone the birth if I could. In fact, I might name my child after this event. 'Eastcapescapade Wendt'. Not sure if Sarah would be keen though.

    I wonder where I can buy a new spoke?

    Fitment wont be an issue.  17" tyres are a lot easier to get off than 10". And while the wheels out, I'll replace the cush drive too. (And maybe inspect the brake shoes. I dunno of they're a bit shagged, or just naturally a bit shit.  The Dio pulls up on a dime by comparison.

    You can buy single spokes. Hit up Anaconda Honda in Te Aroha. I bought a single spoke and nipple combo. Sure, may be a bit modern for his stock, but you never know.

    A bike like @Truenotch/ @WankBankA100/ a CT would be the ideal small bike imho.

    The NBC defo went hard for what it was too.  Hats off to @Chunky_t for being the only leading link bike to finish.

    Depending on how high that river is, smaller bikes might need to go across on a trailer.  I'm not sure I would have made it across if it had been another 30mm deeper.

    Yeah, but parts of day 2 were at the A100’s absolute limits. I had to walk ride the bike and ride the shit out of the clutch to get up those rocky rutted out uphill sections.

    I’m not convinced any twist and go’s would survive. Maybe a bigger cc street magic? Maybe?

    EDIT: I do weigh 120kg, so being a bit lighter might have helped the A100’s cause.
