Help wanted for hay carting Chch - food and beer provided
Carsnz123 replied to Carsnz123's topic in South Island Region
Sounds about right. I'd rather be working on my car. Probably will get up earlyish and do just that. Tractor or baler will probably brake so then I'll be on mechanic duty. Im probably enquiring to the wrong generation. Purdy sure I'm one of the younger ones on here. @johnnyfive you on a plane yet? -
I've got a pair of jeans with a suspicious looking stain down the leg as a result of waterproof PVA

80mm toe change!? Jeasus that would be an exciting ride.

My parents are Baleing hay this weekend 27/28th and require help to pick it up and put into sheds. Conventional bales and no thistles so should be pretty reasonably easy. Depending on how Dewey and foggy or not as to how early we start. Normally not before 10a but carry on into the early evening. Food, beer, and some pocket money supplied for your troubles.

done some algebra. Need to remove 7.3 cc from the chambers to get 10:1 CR.

Watched a couple YouTube videos. They make it look super easy. Might give it a go on an old Briggs and scrap iron head first.

Na never touched a tig. Was thinking of giving it a go with the gas torch.

I did a couple exhaust manifold in mums green bin. Lined the sides with steel rods and suspended the manifold in the middle. Left it hooked to a 6 amp charger for half a day. Took all the rust off no probs. changing the subject: Anyone here have experience welding cast aluminium? Was thinking of welding up the combustion chambers of a spare L26 head to bump up the compression. Factory is 8.8:1 and I want 10:1. Skimming it won't yield the results I want.

What ratio is the diff in your car? I'm going to strip that R30 hatch to donate its trans to Karls coal train. might as well pull the rear subframe at the same time.

Probably going to spend most of next weekend working on my Datsun seeing as I got nothing done on it this weekend. If anyone is heading out to the street party on Thursday I'll be there with a group of bikes. Other than that see you at ruapuna for skope.

Yeah that will work better than just a bar in tr corner

Electrolysis is line of sight so you'll get better results with multiple cathodes around the planter box.

Testing out @SOHC's Epsom salt in battery sharn. Will report back with results when battery is charged.

Being rear brakes probably not. The old cars with drums all round and no boostingn, it's very notisable when they have self wrapping brakes.

You need to buy that MS112 package with the manual sedan while you're at it.

Went for wof check. Got chucked out on an exhaust leak.Fixed that and got wof/rego. Welded a muffler in the back because the novelty of being loud and obnoxious has worn off. All sweet for daily use again.- 20 replies

sounds like you might have needed a change of underwear though.

If it were me I'd be using the i tank fuel pump out of a JZX Chaser or JZS Crown. I think they have the feed and return lines on the external part. As long as you're keen for slight tank mods.

Due to me still not having the Crown Wagon going road worthy yet and getting sick of burning almost $100 of fuel a week in the Crown Coupe the Golf is going to get some use. Problems to solve were: 1. Pissing oil everywhere 2. Pissing coolant everywhere 3. Dodgy cam belt as a result of no.1 4. Radiator fan not working properly 5. No wof or rego Oil and coolant leaks were solved with liberal use of RTV, 518, new crank and camshaft seals, and new gaskets. I removed the crappy single speed fan and retrofitted the 2 speed fan from the parts car. The thermo switch for the 2 speed fan actually works so no more manual switch on the dash. Turns out a cam belt for one of these is a shit of a thing to find and I got lots of nada from pretty much every autoparts store in Christchurch. Top notch bloke Bob at Stanmore road auto had one on the shelf though. With new parts fitted and the little 1.3 ticking over like a gold watch I took the car for its first drive in 4 months and didn't have to worry about it crapping out in the middle of the road. Hopefully it passes a WOF tomorrow. Pics (or lack there of)- 20 replies

You're welcome to borrow or buy my Mk2 golf. I need to fix the cam belt though. Might do that today and drive it for a bit.
